"Add Parador de Plasencia to the top of your list of hotels to stay at in Spain! It is located in Extremadura, the far western part of the country. Rooms: rooms are spacious with many offering a separate sitting area. There are wooden headboards and orange tiled floors. The bathrooms have been updated and include amenities shampoo, shower gel, etc. There is also air conditioning, which is appreciated on days with temperatures over 40C. Fitness leisure: Ask the receptionist for access to the fitness room located underground. There’s a treadmill, stationary bike, free weights and weight machine with a bench. What’s more, there are showers and a sauna there too. The outdoor swimming pool is open in the summer, which is refreshing on hot days (August). Food: the breakfast buffet offers regional specialities including multiple pastries and sweets, local cheese and meats. Come hungry as there are plenty of options to choose from and it’s even possible to order eggs (various styles) or churros. Service: extremely friendly and helpful. Parking: to check in, park in front of the hotel for a few minutes. The parking garage is accessed by driving around the back and taking an elevator. Recommend to not be in a rush to arrive or depart the parking lot as it can take some time. Summary: this historic building was built in the 15th century as a convent complete with a gorgeous cloister that sheds lights into the ground and upper floors. It feels as though you’ve stepped back in time while in this well preserved venue. Within walking distance to the other sites in Plasencia, this parador is a must when in Extremadura. Highly recommend!!"

"We went there because was in the next door to our hotel (despite the entrance do not let you know what you will found behind). Was our lucky day: the best meals in Plasencia where there and couldn’t have any wrong experience (even when we let them decide what we will eat). They have an extensive menu complemented with daily dishes depending on the season and what they can find in the market. The wine selection is done with professional criteria and reasonable price. The restaurant has short history (starts ending 2017) but the team has long record in the industry (from the kitchen till the dining room management). No risk having a meal there."

"Estábamos buscando un restaurante en la zona más tranquila del centro, sin tanto ruido, que no tenías que pegarte para tomar una mesa y que no era una comida de batalla (grasa) como los de la plaza misma. este está en una de las calles que salen de la plaza pero admiten reservas, es un lugar limpio y elegante. la comida, además de ser muy buena, tiene muy buena calidad. Además, los empleados son muy amables y atentos, que en los otros restaurantes de la zona brillan por la falta de atención al público."

"Sorprende la calidad de los platos de este sitio. Parece un simple bar de copas de ambiente agradable, pero cuando te sientan a la mesa y antes siquiera de pedir la bebida te ponen el aperitivo (dos montados de jamón y queso, deliciosos, crujientes y calentitos), te imaginas que lo que viene a continuación va a ser muy bueno, y no te equivocas. Probamos una ensalada muy rica, unas empanadillas de mejillones deliciosas (la ración era de 6 pero fueron súper majos y al decirles que sólo queríamos probarlas, nos trajeron 2), un solomillo con salsa, y la torrija simplemente espectacular (la acompañaron con una bola de helado de vainilla con cobertura de chocolate blanco y una crema de caramelo, impresionante de buena). Los dueños (también eran los camareros de sala) son súper amables. Al parecer las cocineras son sus esposas, así que no podemos más que dar la enhorabuena al equipo entero, ya que se ve que todo está cocinado con cariño y puesto con mucho esmero en cada uno de los platos. Los camareros de la barra también súper majos. El sitio está cerca del centro de Plasencia pero en una zona más tranquila y merece muchísimo la pena. Y de precio, más que razonable."
