service was excellent. the food was nice, everyone at our party loved it. had a great evening. heavy fish was the best iw eaten aswel!

The food was good, but beware they charge you £3.00 if you ask for extra butter to go with your complementary bread, not much atmosphere. When we questioned been charged for the bread the man was extremely rude, we pointed out his attitude was not encouraging people to return, he said I don't care if you don't return. Not good. Adding this review in the sincere hope it might help with some changes this place has been around a while and has the potential to be such a great local spot. Unfortunately, as noted in recent reviews, the service is truly awful. It has gone from an authentic, down to earth feel to absolutely rude. This isn’t based on a single experience but on numerous recent visits and observing interactions with other diners too. I really hope the management can address this sooner rather than later. Like someone Else said this could be a real gem, but the service isn’t great. I asked for a jug of water and was given a bottle, and when I said I assumed your water came like that as I did ask for a jug of water and was charged £3.99 for still water when I asked for a jug of water anyway. It’s a shame as we were doing sober October and were willing to come back and would’ve bought alcohol. I went there specifically because I am diagnosed coeliac and someone said they do cater for coeliac‘s but they didn’t even have gluten-free pasta.
