Our family enjoyed a quiet weekend lunch at Da Franco restaurant during a day trip to Remagen. The staff were welcoming and spoke Italian, German and English. The menu had a wide selection of Italian dishes including a number of pasta and pizza choices. The...drink menu includes alcohol and non-alcohol. Decor was in keeping with the usual Italian themed restaurant. The view, however, was spectacular. The restaurant has an outdoor terrace just a short distance from the Rhine.

Terrible service!! Very unfriendly operation. The food (noodles with broccoli) came with fish from which nothing was on the map. On my note that I did not eat fish, it was said that it would be made new without talking the right. I had my appetite, but I had no choice. I'd rather not have eaten. I had to wait more than half an hour for the bill and ask three times. The operation obviously has nothing better to do than to direct paprika and salt shaker on the unoccupied side table.

Over the years I have been to this restaurant many times. It used to be a favorite but at some point the quality/quantity of the food seemed to be going down so I stopped going. On the chance that things might have changed I went...back for dinner. Just a simple bowl of spaghetti Bolognese, bread and salad. What I was served was not bad but then not great. The other folks I was with liked their food but no one was raving about it. If you happen to be walking along the Rhein and feel like some Italian then stop by but don't make a special trip. Here the locals are very dense and offer a lot of variety. My choice fell on a pizza Italia: cheese, tomatoes, anchovies, artichokes, salami. She was thin and crispy and not too much baked. I said that. As dessert I still enjoyed Tiramisu (which according to my estimate, good taste, the soil was made slightly softened). Rainworm in salad! We were with Da Franco yesterday. You're very nice outside, but it was already. When I was in my salad with the fork, a rainworm came out. I was totally shocked and ordered the already ordered food. The boss apologized and said he could fool me well, he didn't know how this could happen. We should think about staying. After a few minutes we decided to stay, because a salad where a rainworm feels comfortable cannot be so bad. I assumed that the kitchen with our other food would now be put a lot into the stuff far missed. My Rumpsteak was good, but the sauce was cold and the fries of fries warmed up.
