Cody local atmosphere but food quality has unfortunately declined from my first time here (two years ago). Portions are great and so is service, so when showing Rome to friends I will gladly bring them here. I ate for lunch yesterday with a group of friends and after the truly excellent first courses we ordered Roman-style artichokes which however were sold out. However, the grilled artichokes were there. Unfortunately they took some artichokes in oil and put them in the pan, resulting in something that was completely burnt and decidedly unpleasant to the palate. It's not really comparable to a raw artichoke grilled and even though we're not from Rome we noticed it.

In the Testaccio area, Da Bucatino is a truly welcoming and familiar restaurant. The staff is genuine and funny, thanks to them, between one joke and another, they really make you feel at home. The quality of the raw materials can be felt. We ordered ham and mozzarella as a starter. Followed by bucatini all'amatriciana, accompanied by a gag (fun and original idea), and veal with potatoes, a dish that I particularly recommend if you don't want to have a first course. The desserts were good but, to be honest, the white lace truffle wasn't very good. Overall a really positive experience.

We stopped by on a Sunday evening, right around 7:00, without reservations. The server was very kind and got us in just before the dinner rush. By the time we left it was absolutely packed. In hindsight, we should have made a reservation. This is clearly a neighborhood favorite. The food was excellent. We tried the cacio e pepe, carbonara, rabbit, oxtails, and puntarelle. And a bottle of wine. Everything was excellent and the service was great! We are tourists, but felt just as welcome as the locals and had a very nice experience. Our server was a kind man with a good sense of humor we had fun joking around with him. The prices are very fair and portions large. Ignore the bad reviews posted... Voir le carte
