"I booked the festive menu for three and said I would have something off the menu all four of us had purchased a voucher for £15 which enabled us to have £25 towards meal and drinks. The three friends each paid a deposit of £5. The meal was dreadful!!! The service was slow and we were the only ones in there! The beef had no Yorkshire pudding, the Turkey ROLL was like Bernard matthew’s, my chicken was over cooked and dry it was supposed to have a sauce but I had to ask for gravy it was so dry! And the dessert (treacle tart) was not only cold but rock hard!!! We asked to speak to someone to say how disappointed we were and basically were brushed off then she told us one voucher per bill but we were told per person! So she then had to split the bill we all ended up giving her our vouchers because we wouldn’t go again. Appalling! The two stars were for the decorations!"

"Visiting Crewe with my wife we decided to take an early lunch at Miller and Carter. Our choice of restaurant being influenced by an earlier experience at the Telford outlet. Receiving a warm greeting from Reception we were shown to our table by David, who was to be our server throughout the meal. The Fixed Price Menu seemed to meet our needs and we ordered starters of salt and pepper calamari and sticky chipotle chicken. The main course being two 7 oz Rump steaks, one served with a mixed salad and the other with onion loaf, tomato, and seasoned fries. Drinks comprised a glass of a very pleasing South African merlot and a Fevertree tonic water. The meal met with our expectations and the steaks (cooked medium) had just the right degree of pinkness. The dishes were well prepared, nicely presented, and the steaks in particular were full of flavour. Competitively priced at £16.25 per head for a 2-course lunch, or £19.25 if wanting a dessert, we thought it represented very good value for money. The restaurant gave out a pleasant ambience and the spacious seating ensured comfort in just the right setting. Mention should also be made of the washroom facilities which were as to be expected. Having spent a good number of years in Hospitality Management I could not fault our young attendant David, who we both thought performed his tasks to a high standard. Happy to recommend."

"We went to the Elephant last night on its first day of opening. Every thing had been done to make sure customers and staff were kept safe. On entering there was a hand sanitising machine for everyone to use. At our table we could see the menu on our phone and send our order straight to the kitchen. We had a lovely meal up to the usual standard and although there were screens around the bar and tables it did not alter the friendly ambience that is always present at the Elephant."

"Very disappointing. Took ages to be seated and the restaurant was cold, we were given a table right next to the service station so there were servers coming and going all the time. Asked what the Kansas caviar was and the waitress didn't know, which is something that you would expect them to, or for an explanation to be on the menu. The food was good but not spectacular and over priced. More interested in bums on seats than customer comfort that table should not be there. Also saw servers decanting mayo and other sauces into the same bottles. Can understand some sauces but mayo?? How old is that mix??? Sure other people enjoyed themselves but I personally wouldn't go there again. Service: Dine in Meal type: Dinner Price per person: £20–30 Food: 4 Service: 2 Atmosphere: 1"

"Went to get coffee before catching my train, wasn't in a massive rush but didn't want to hang around. I asked for soy milk as I'm vegan and I walked down the street sipping it, thinking it tasted rather odd. After a few sips I realised it was dairy milk! I'm really unhappy about this, I didn't have time to turn around and swap it. I understand it can be an easy mistake but it wasn't busy and I specifically asked the man who made the coffee for soy milk, which he assured me he had. I'm really upset about it to be honest"
