Peaceful setting for a drink at the bar followed by afternoon tea. Food was served we were left to chat enjoy. Tea/coffee refilled when requested. Everything was very tasty.

I was very annoyed as when I booked Fork said it was £19.50 per person but they charged me £25.00 so I felt I overpaid by £30 so cross I will never recommend booking through fork

Mainly go here as usually quiet so can eat without too much noise around us. Food is ok, service is ok. Prices ok. Not for a special meal but just a chance to eat out for a reasonable price. Voir le carte

This restaurant has a good situation overlooking the Thames. Good menu with ample choice for vegetarians. Staff attentive but some would benefit from a more relaxed smiling manner. Good prices.

I had a truly wonderful afternoon tea at a great price. They accommodated all three dietary requirements in our group exceptionally well, and the food was delicious. The service was excellent, too!

Had a lovely after noon tea was delicious, but looked like alot of money £65 for just one 3 tier cake stand for 3 people ,don’t get me wrong there was enough but maybe spread it out onto two cake stands so u feel ur getting ur money’s worth ,plus we’ve been to dobbies garden center £13.50 per person ,and u get a lot more 2 x3 tiers for 3 people ,there also doing a deal 2 people for £20 till September ,so when u weigh it up it does seem a lot Voir le carte

This was not quite the first afternoon tea experience I’d hoped to give our Ukrainian guests. We were kept waiting at the start because apparently the booking hadn’t come through as an afternoon tea. When it did arrive, there was cream cheese instead of clotted cream with the scones and although we asked for tea as well as the complimentary coffees we were offered for the delay, this never materialised. It is a nice location with a nice view and the food was good when it arrived (excepting the cream) but it was a decidedly average experience and overpriced because of this at £25 a head.

This was not the afternoon tea experience I had hoped to offer our Ukrainian guests. We faced a delay at the beginning because it seemed our booking hadn’t gone through properly. When the food finally arrived, we were disappointed to find cream cheese instead of clotted cream served with the scones. Although we asked for tea and were promised complimentary coffee due to the wait, that never happened. The location is beautiful, with stunning views, and the food was good when it finally arrived (aside from the cream issue). Overall, it was a rather average experience and felt overpriced at £25 per person.

This was booked as a treat to help a friend who has had a medical diagnose that was not expected. The Crowne Plazza Hotel Reading, restaurant employee firstly said we have no booking and tried to show us back to the exit. We a asked him to check again he refused and said we had clearly made a mistake and walked away . We spoke with reception who had no issue finding our booking which said was made only today. Re confirmation of attendance was made today after email received asking me to do so.. Booking made 3-4 days ago Reception offered a free drink while something was rustled up!!. 30 mins later sat at a table in thorough fare outside the main restaurant layed up area.
