"We have just come finished a 4 days stay Albert Cottage. I booked this place as a special birthday treat for my mother’s 90th as she wanted to visit Osbourne House and go to places she had been to previously with our dad on her last visit. We asked for a downstairs room with twin beds. Due to moms Mobility . On first arrival we had a minor hiccup with the room. We were offered another room, however this would have been a double bed for only one night as the hotel was fully booked, we decided not to take this as mom being 90 didn’t want to be changing rooms. The hiccup was soon sorted out. Albert cottage is a beautiful place to stay, there are needs for updating in areas and this is being done. Our only problem was the twin beds they were extremely small and very very hard mattresses, my mom suffers with joint issues and found this a real problem. I do not suffer but I too found the twin beds extremely uncomfortable. So bear this in mind if you don’t like small hard beds when booking the twin (room 11). Breakfast was standard continual and cooked breakfast food was lovely. There is a restaurant which you can dine at night on the night time. We tried to book a table twice during our stay, unfortunately the hotel had a function on both nights and could only offer us a table in the breakfast area. We declined this and chose to eat out. Location of hotel is good for getting around and visiting Osbourne house. I am happy we chose the hotel for its location as our main thing was to visit Osbourne House and its perfect location for doing so. Would I return probably not simply because of the beds and other minor niggles. I wish we had been informed when we booked about the function as I wanted to treat my mom on her 90th birthday to a lovely meal in the restaurant. Rooms: Grade 2 listed, twin rooms the most uncomfortable and small I have encountered. Walkability: There are a few steps it is a grade 2 listed building so uneven in parts Rooms: 2 Service: 4 Location: 5 Hotel highlights: Quiet"

We stayed one night here as a couple during the Isle of Wight Festival and we felt very well looked after. The staff were attentive and polite, the grounds are stunning and the barman was great. The inclusive breakfast selection was large and the ingredients were delicious. We'd love to come back and spend more time. Service: 5

Cool historic property with beautiful grounds. Our room was fine, nothing really incredible and the bed was rather antique and wasn’t quite as long as I am tall. Staff was friendly and lounge area inside and outdoors are very nice and comfortable. Bus stop is a short walk down the street and there is plenty of free parking on the property as well. As residents of the island, we've enjoyed several visits in the past, including the New Year's Eve ball, afternoon tea, and an overnight stay with dinner and breakfast. Those experiences were always top-notch, but this time was unfortunately very different. We felt rushed, and it seems the restaurant shouldn't have taken dinner reservations while they were preoccupied with other events. Given this experience, we are uncertain about returning in the future.

We tried Sunday lunch again but we're very disappointed. My wife had to send her beef back it was very tough and my chicken was ruined by the overpowing jue. Vegetables were very overcooked and roast potatoes had been hanging around for a while I would say. We mentioned all this to the staff who seemed pretty disinterested.
