"Come Il Mare is not the type of restaurant a local would suggest you to visit the first time you come to Gaeta (LT). As its Italian name suggests, you will only find fish plates – it literally means “like the sea” –. It is situated in a suggestive fisherman’s village, about 500 mt from the historical centre of the city. Being fortunate enough to go there last summer, I decided to book a table for me and my family (four of us) curious about the tempting smell of cooked fish and the endless queue outside the restaurant. As you enter the place you are welcomed by a nice setting: it has been built in a way to resemble an ancient ship. In addiction, your attention will surely be captured by magnificent flowers and plants placed on the borders. You should always book before arriving there, unless you are definetely going to join the long queue mentioned before: on weekends the average waiting time could touch a minimum of one hour! All the products were fresh and the dishes had the warmth of home-made food. The chefs take great care in selecting the best quality ingredients. The recipes are not elaborated, yet they come from local cuisine. The restaurant also provides a large selection of tasty white wines, which will not empty your wallet. The service was absent. Literally. We were told about this charcteristic, therefore we were not surprised at all. When you are ready to order your meal, you simply write your name on the menu and then a speaker will invite you to pick it up. In my opinion, this is not a drawback, instead it impacts your bill in a positive way! Anyway it has to be said that some of you may not accept this type of service and it is completely understandable. Taking everything into account, we all agreed on having a pleasant dining experience with high quality fresh food and a warm atmosphere. I came back after a couple of years. I found it worsened: increased prices and decreased quality. a real shame because I liked it very much. the good but dear voter.

Good idea, less the rest. good frying (although expensive to be frozen fish,) normal pasta dishes (almost always the same) and less good other things, including mussels that deserve more accurate hygiene. kind and attentive staff to everything. three stars are prophesied to do better.

the fish shop is well supplied and especially clean that I find essential. The staff is kind, but the only flaw is the prices a little too high. it will be that the quality you pay, but coming from Sicily I find the prices really a little too high. regarding the restaurant, the dishes are very good and cooked really well with a good variety of the offer. the place looks good

we had dinner with a group of friends in this restaurant in gaeta, the location is out of the classic models, but it is quickly acclimated. the staff is kind but a bit spicy. formula type self-service menu quite varied based on fish. we took linguine with day fish and good chili, polenta with cod with spicy tomato and it was a magnificent surprise as well as fried squid and shrimp, and panato tuna with bietoline . for an informal evening with friends is perfect. We'll be back.

fish shop that also makes catering service offering its fish. located just before the center of gaeta, with easy parking, after having accommodated in place you choose the menu you prefer and pay to the cashier. shortly after he was called by the kitchen that warns about the preparation of the ordination. I have been there several times but the dish I prefer is the crushed squid and cuttlefish in batter. spectacular! It's sold for portions, but if you're as greedy as I am, you won't share it with anyone. to signal the excellent fried anchovies, squid and swordfish really exquisite. prices. in the norm but consider that it is fish and then adjust accordingly!
