Columbia Coffee Lounge

The Columbia is the best koffee shop /cafe in Scunthorpe,forget Starbucks or Costa coffee, they serve expensive mud compared to the Columbia.

Great little cafe in the middle of the town centre. Coffee good and the cakes are fab. Often designed around kids chocolate bars (dine bar cake, caramac cake etc etc) However, worth a stop for lunch too jacket pots are nice as are paninis. Always very clean and staff are all very pleasant

stumbled across this delightful coffee lounge today,during a visit to the town . nestled in a side street between every day shops this coffee lounge was a big surprise. friendly, cheerful staff, excellent value, superbly clean and a good variety of tasty,home cooked food, well worth a visit. We decamped to the café having been badly let down (for the second time) by our usual meeting place. We were given the upstairs, plenty of room along with excellent coffee and cakes. The group have decided to meet here for future meetings. The welcome 5 stars, coffee ditto, cakes ditto. We'll be back.

My partner and I nipped in for a quick breakfast. I opted for the poached eggs on toast. I was appalled to receive two poached eggs that had clearly been made in one of those horrible microwave containers! No runny yolk, no fresh egg white, just rubbery, over-cooked microwave eggs! And all whilst under new ownership- not a great start. Will certainly not be returning.

Stopped for a coffee and some cake with a friend whilst shopping. A decent menu and large piece of cake (caramac) which we shared but it was very sweet. The staff were helpful enough but not overly friendly or welcoming, none seemed particularly happy in their work. It is only a small place so not very good for a private conversation as you are sat quite close to each other. Voir le carte

Wanted something easy at lunch time. We were shopping nearby and went looking for somewhere to eat. There were four eateries all In a row and we opted for this one. We ordered panninis and coffees. The food came with a side salad with proper lettuce, NO ROCKET. Hurray! Excellent friendly service and lovely food and plenty of it. we don't often tip but we did this time. Now have a loyalty card and will certainly be going again.

Relax in the cosy coffee lounge or sit outside and enjoy a meal. Upstairs is a lovely area with sofas and more tables. The staff cannot do enough for you, despite it being constantly busy. Different savouries, paninis, sandwhiches, salads and more. The sweets are divine and substantial. It's easy to spend far too much time there. Go and have a look, you won't be disappointed. The girls are lovely, consistent, friendly and efficient.

Popped over to Scunthorpe for a change of scenery and was in need of a post shopping pick me up. The Columbia Cafe has a good location just off the main shopping area. Went in fancying just a coffee...but then saw the cake selection and my wife and I had to have a piece. I had a succulent carrot cake, and my wife had a Nutella/Cookie dough cake. I also decided to have the Latte Supreme [which has whipped cream on the top as well]. They cakes were very tasty and the caffine and sugary treats gave us more energy to hit the high street again.
