We always go here for our coffee treat the atmosphere is comfortable and welcoming and all the staff are friendly. The coffee’s good too!

Weak coffee and very slow service. The time to get a coffee hear has always been bad and it does not improve. Coffee is very watery due to cheap coffee beans and no passion for coffee.

Long queue, poor staff, could only have a take out cup to drink in if you get kids who are unsupervised to run your coffee shop you’ll let the standards plummet. Kids can’t be bothered to wash up I would give the place a wide berth. Voir le carte

I called in on a busy Saturday and the line was to the door. I decided to stick it out and found the staff to be very efficient in taking and delivering orders. My coffee and pastry were above average. Overall: a good branch of this generally good chain.

The place looks pleasant and the food etc well displayed. And that draws you in. Don’t bother. The service is at best indifferent, the staff devoid of manners and the ability to ignore you offensive. The hot drinks served in disposable cups and the food I will never return to try.

Staff are nice but tech is awful. What coffee shop these days doesn’t have a healthy supply of plugs? But that’s not my main complaint. Since 2022, this location has not had any wifi. Apparently the staff have complained to management but they ‘just don’t give a damn’. Wake up! It’s 2024!!! Voir le carte

Love going in here for the friendly staff and good coffee. However...I was shocked today to find out Rebecca did not make her probation. She was simply one of the best staff members there, and was one of the main reasons for my visits. She was always very polite,courteous,professional and an asset to the cafe. Why oh why have management got rid of an excellent member of staff?? It simply does not make sense.

My car in for service today, so had 2 trips to Coffee #1. First visit was for breakfast. Banana and cinnamon porridge, with little pot of honey on the side. Delicious. Washed down with pot of English breakfast tea. Tea is always good here with proper leaves in a pot. After passing time wandering around town, returned for a lovely vanilla latte and salted caramel slice. Coffee was lovely. Slice, thought it may be over sweet, but no, it was lovely balanced flavour. Staff are always very friendly. Atmosphere always feels relaxed. Definitely my favourite place to relax and spend time in Newbury.

Weekday visit. A Thursday. Late morning. Two ladies serving. Short-staffed as tables full of unwashed cups and plates where people had been sitting ..but when trying to clear up...oh ..it was literally as if they were throwing ceramic mugs into a ceramic sink. Smash, crash, bang. All customers stopped drinking coffee, neither of the two ladies seemed to have any clue about the noise they were making. The couple nearest us were aghast with the noise and shook their heads bowing not to come again. No care or apparent knowledge re: noise or how heavy-handed they were. Awful experience and female manager there can be quite blunt. Not a nice experience. Won't be going back..shame as coffee was go... Voir le carte
