"Myself and my partner stayed in a hotel just up the road from Coates Café and it was a really great place to start our day. When we first visited, the experience was so easy going. You enter the café and head straight to the counter, immediately you are greeted with a pleasant welcome and a warm smile, even with the café being busy for morning service, and you are handed menus and given plenty of time to order as you go back to the counter when you are ready to do so. The food itself was very tasty, we both had the full breakfast and the value you get for your money is definitely worth it. I also sampled the poached eggs hollandaise with the bacon, black pudding and avocado one morning (if you are wanting something filling that is not quite as big as a full breakfast, I highly recommend . There are also plenty of drinks selections, from juices to teas and coffee's and although we did not have any, the freshly made pastries looked and smelled wonderful. Not so much negatives, but just a few things noted from our visit, the café could definitely look at installing an additional toilet facility. Whilst it did not smell unpleasant, having three tables close to the only toilet in the café is not going to be everyone's cup of tea (excuse the pun . On one occasion a family with a new born baby ended up sitting next to the toilet and using it for a good 30-45 minutes which ended up creating a queue of people waiting to use it, one being my partner. Thankfully we were only up the road but she had to leave the café to go back to the hotel just to be able to use a toilet. Additionally, just a little tip for people visiting. If you love tea then you'll have no problem at all with this, however, when you order the breakfast tea, this comes in a tea pot (not evidently clear on the menu itself and myself and my partner made the mistake of ordering a tea each and ended up with a serving of tea suitable for a table of four! So if you both want tea, think about ordering one tea at a time and sharing. Overall I would recommend paying Coates Cafe a visit if you are staying in the Haymarket area. A lovely atmosphere to start the day and plenty of time to order and enjoy your food and you won't ever feel like you're over staying your welcome! :"

Coates Cafe has a good location within easy walking distance of Haymarket Station. It is a small Cafe with a nice atmosphere, friendly staff who attended to us quickly and a nice range of breakfasts and hot light meals. Prices were reasonable and we both enjoyed our visit

We visited here one tuesday morning for a breakfast. My partner doesnt like mushrooms or tomatoes and was allowed to substitute it for extra sausages!! Safe to say he was a very happy man! The service was spot on and the breakfast delicious. My only criticism is the butter as it was really tough to spread haha apart from that 10/10 ...and the homemade bread was delightful

Located conveniently in the Haymarket area, we were seated at a lovely table where the staff kindly added extra seats for our party of 6, including a well-behaved dog. The coffees were fantastic and beautifully served. We tried the pancakes with bacon and maple syrup, full English breakfast, and Vegan full English sausage bun, all of which were delicious. I recently had lunch at this cafe with a friend who works near Haymarket. We were looking for a light lunch option within walking distance so my friend could quickly get back to work. The cafe is small and cozy, and we both enjoyed the delicious soup, which was well-flavored and served hot. The coffee was also quite good. We were able to finish our meal and get back to work within our lunch hour, making this cafe a convenient and pleasant choice for lunch in the area. Overall, a great lunch option.

We discovered this restaurant while searching for cafes that offered gluten-free options for both myself and my husband. We decided to take a walk from our hotel, which took us about an hour to get there. This was not an issue as we were excited for breakfast. Upon entering, we were greeted and offered a menu. When my husband inquired about gluten-free options, the man behind the counter rudely replied that they did not have any and even laughed at us. I immediately turned around and left. It's baffling to me why a restaurant would not accommodate allergies in this day and age.
