Chatkhara - Menu

We have only ever had a take-out kebab roll from here and my my are they a thing of beauty. Hit the spot.

lamb briyani, lamb nihari, samosa vegetables and chana masala it was very nice eating and friendly service.

large selection of food. good service and eating was excellent. service was good and fast. take them out or eat them.

avoid this place 2 rude disappointed closing this is about 2 I went there about 1.25 am asked for tee and the answer I was not doing because it takes half an hour what a sweat

Appalling service. Wrong food, argued that I'd ordered something different. Refused to take coins despite them clearly being legal tender. Naan bread was burnt to a cinder. Would never go back.

Alright. The staff are very friendly and I like the canteen atmosphere inside. I remember ordering a lamb curry years ago and it being really good. This time, I tried the chicken tikka roll and chapali kebab, both recommended by a friend. I was a little disappointed with both, to be honest. The roll was dry and needed some kind of sauce or moisture and although the kebab was tasty, it wasn't spicy enough and a teeny bit bland. Will try a curry again next time!

The food here is great but it's really a shame how slow they are at preparing it. I go here anyway because the food is so delicious but the communication and service is terrible. Tonight I waited about 20 minutes for food, and then when...I went to pay was told that the card machine was broken so I then had to walk down the road to the ATM. Not a problem, but should have been told and given the opportunity to do this when waiting. Again, I'm now home and the 2 samosas I ordered aren't here. I'm not sure if I was charged for them, but on principle it's just the icing on the cake tonight. If they upped their service this place would be absolutely incredible.

I'll say it again: Chicken Balti. Once you eat this you will never want to eat anything else ever again. It is a think of exquisite beauty and possibly the best curry have ever had and I have had many. I've been coming here for...about 18 years. The premises used to be pretty bad (terrifying toilet) but vastly improved although still very cafe-like. Staff are friendly and hardworking from Afghanistan I think. Who knew incredible curry comes from Afghanistan? Not me but I'm very glad it does. Sometimes your food will come with a complimentary salad, sometimes it won't. It doesn't matter. Go there immediately, order the Chicken Balti and for a while at least your life will be wonderful.
