"I first visited charlestons 2 years ago, while I visited local family. my mam and I had both the hot boars with sides of chips and twirl rings. everything was really pleasant. my mam was back and enjoyed it. on another trip to south shields there was only one place I wanted to eat today. charlestons. mam had a hot bark and I went this time for the chicken again with chips and wobble rings. a pot tee and a pot of excellent earl grey. the service was friendly, helpful and efficient as before. yes, they wait for her to eat, as it is all freshly cooked and is destined to wait. the rolls are soft and a good size, filled with a generous part of the flesh and with fabulous engraving. all with the beautiful chips were wiped off from the plates! correct fat chips, on the outside, fluffy on the inside and piping hot. the tweeled rings are simply perfect, thick cut and coated in thin crisp teig. a beautiful, bright caffe where they can sit and see the world over. my mam said it is one of the few places where she feels comfortable to eat alone. only a ploo, but it is clean, has a changing area and also for wheelchairs. I am a cook and it is a tasty bite to sit and cook home delicious food. will I recommend? Yes, absolutely. I would go back. definitiw! (this on trip advisor also)"

large house cooked eating with friendly staff directly in the city center and they can also drink a beer with their dinner when they so desire.
