Captain Jacks - Carte

Lovely local pub tucked away from the main strip of Paignton. Food was great value, around £9 a main, homemade and tasty. Staff were very helpful and drinks reasonable priced.

Sometimes the food is good and others, not so good and this time the latter. No menus, have to wait for the chef to tell us what he has available, music too loud, but the beer is ok.

Stopped here for food I had the ham egg and chips very nice, my husband had the ploughman’s not sure how they can call it that it’s just ham pickles and bread ... no cheese no pork pie no apple not worth £10 Voir le carte

We have been here for the last seven years. Staff and locals always friendly and kind. We had an excellent Sunday carvery for evening dinner time. Dogs enjoyed their bits. Lovely venue, lovely local people. Will be back again.

We went here for drinks, had a warm welcome from Kevin and Helen who hadn't owned the bar long before Covid19 forced them to close, however they got through this and reopened. They also do meals, we had Sunday diner which was fabulous.

Popped in for drink and something to eat after a long drive. Landlord and landlady very helpful. Clean pub and pleasant music. Food was tasty and reasonably priced. They were everything they could to keep patrons safe, with a one way system and notices to remind people to keep their distance. Would go back again. Voir le carte

My husband and I have been to this pub a few times since it came under new management and we have found it to be excellent. The owners are welcoming and friendly, always willing to help out. The pub is clean, spacious, and has a nice outdoor area. The Sunday roast was delicious, as were the ploughman's platter and nachos, all reasonably priced. This is a family and dog-friendly pub that is a hidden gem.

Had a wonderful couple of days here in Captain Jacks ..... they are very much part of the track and trace scheme and refuse service unless you fill it in . This is important to me and should be to everyone . so safe is how I felt straight away and at home. Then I ordered food which if I’m honest I thought ooh this is a bit of a limited choice but the food is like proper food. home cooked and delicious, so it’s a good choice and a good portion too. The hosts are great I feel really welcome, so thank you for that. In a time of such uncertainty Captain Jacks is a sure bet for a good time. We (2) stayed in a colin road guest-house for 9 days. To find a food pub as good as captain jacks was a very pleasant surprise, especially in the same road. Under new management since start of lockdown, it is definitely not to be missed. We ate there several times, held a birthday party there, upon arrival of children grandchildren, and received absolutely superb service. We ended up drinking there every night, with a good atmosphere and very pleasant fellow visitors and very friendly locals. Proprietors are brilliant as evidently also is the chef. One cannot fault the food, service, or anything else. Anyone staying near should have a meal drinks in captain jacks. Good menu to suit everyone,... Voir le carte
