"I chose this place after seeing several mentions in the Michelin Guide and some Raving reviews. I booked a table for 4 in the palmtree room well in advance as I wanted the full experience, this was the end of a trip with...friends I hadn't seen for over 2 years because of the pandemic. When we arrived, I informed that we had a booking. the waiter immediately said: the room is closed. I explained once again that we had a confirmed booking. he answered with sitting somewhere else and went away. we thought it was weird, but decided to stay. we found a table and waited for the menus. it took a long time, but finally the same guy (called hakan) came back only with the menus german. we did our best and were ready to order. the waiter took our orders, but one of my friends chose something from the breakfast part (not German, of course.) he replied that she could not order it in German. I somehow understood it, as I know something about the speech. I told him in English apology, she will need more time, then he replied in German he could not understand me. I repeated. He ignored me. my friend felt the print and ordered something random from the menu. he returned more than 15 minutes later with our commands. during our visit, he never checked whether the food is in order or whether we would like to order something. Instead he chose an animated chat with a group of young people who came in and ordered nothing. Finally, we decided that it was time to go. somehow I managed to get his attention and he returned with the bill after I had corrected myself in German when I asked for the bill in English. when we said, keep the change, he had absolutely no problems to understand English. we made us feel super disappointed as this should be a special tasty, because it was the worst experience we had. I wrote a long email to her and had no answer. they're just not important. By the way, I know that the English /German speaking situation was mentioned by people to other places, but we visited many other restaurants and had nothing else but a nice service of people who sometimes struggled with English, but tried their best. absolutely disgusting."
