"We had eaten here back in March and wanted to make sure that we did again on this short visit. I sent an e-mail to make reservations for a particular night and time, and received an e-mail confirmation. When we arrived and gave our name,...the gentleman said he didn't show us as having a reservation but we could go downstairs to eat. That was fine, because that is where we wanted to dine anyway. The waitress downstairs asked our name, said we didn't have a reservation and said we could take one of two very small tables...like so small I think it would have been hard to get two plates and two drinks on them at once. I pulled up my email and showed it to her. She said that it had been sent by the manger, went upstairs, and then said we could dine at a proper table. We ordered some pretzels and a bowl of beef broth soup as appetizers; the soup was awesome and the pretzels were good as well. I ordered a main that had steak, chicken and pork (forget what it was called) and my daughter got the schnitzel. All of the food was very good and the service was good as well. This is such a unique place; it will always be on our list of places to visit when we are in Vienna."

Our first meal in Vienna and the food was lovely. They served large portions, traditional delicious food and friendly waitress thanks Michaela! The locations is in a lovely side street and the menu describes the history of the restaurant, dating back to Roman times.

We came upon Brezl Gwolb quite by accident snagged the last available table. We were charmed by the quirky decor and wrought iron pretzel signs. The menu was Austrian, yet with modern and even vegetarian choices. We had a very lovely lunch with a very...cheeky waitress, who we all adored. We'll return for sure. BTW, my husband peeked downstairs at what he thought was an amazing dining room, not in use at lunchtime.

Most unexpected find in one of the side streets. Happened to find it walking around the very wet cold streets of Vienna. As we had had a late large breakfast elsewhere, we weren’t really that hungry. Enjoyed the two soups we had, cream of pumpkin...for my husband; I had the Viennese chicken noodle soup. Very wel, priced, and delicious. Gorgeous place, all dark wood and Romantic feel to the place. Lovely and warm too. Thoroughly recommend it.

My wife and I really enjoyed our meal here (unfortunately we were not so hungry since we had late afternoon bratwurst dogs at Schotten tram stop and these are really filling! . We shared two main courses and plenty of house white wine which is very...good and well-priced. We ate downstairs in the cellar with its fine stone arches and candle-lit wooden tables and it was a real taste of old Vienna. If you like rustic no-frills dining with good food and wine and friendly service, we thoroughly recommend this restaurant. Voir le carte

Brezl Gwolb is a little off the beaten path, but well worth the time to find it! The schnitzel was delicious, as was the warm potato salad and roast potatoes that accompanied it. The jaeger schnitzel was done in a tasty, yet non traditional way ...grilled instead of breaded, but still topped with a mushrooms and a lovely brown gravy. The spaetzle were a delightful complement to it. The service was fast and friendly, and we enjoyed sitting outside in the quiet street. (Seating is also available inside at the main level and in the basement. Washrooms are free for customers.
