"Have eaten here a couple of times recently on the last 2 occasions we were lucky to get a table, the cafe is huge with loads of tables but it's obviously very popular hence the difficulty getting a seat. Once seated we loved the menu especially as we are vegetarian so lovely to get some different options. I had the eggs ambio which was gorgeous then today had the goats cheese and onion toast with additional chips. Yes it's a bit expensive and did have a little wait both to order given the size of the queue then to get the food but it's worth it. The cakes look amazing and I really enjoyed the slice of coffee cake I had. The tables outside looking onto the river are great. Loads of free parking and next door to the motor museum, couldn't ask for more."

I had the open beef sandwich which arrived promptly but was so tough I had to give up half way through so my teeth were left intact.

Very busy cafe. You need to find a table first if ordering cooked food. Brodies coffee. Popular with visitors locals. Dogs also allowed

Steer clear of the cheese sandwich. Roasted peppers and tomato chutney. Sloppy with cheese slices. Horrible. I can honestly say it was the worst I have ever tasted

I was surprised by the poor reviews as I found the staff extremely professional and polite; the food delivered promptly and nicely cooked and presented; and the ambiance and views awesome

The food was excellent, the restaurant was very clean, and the staff were friendly. The coronation chicken sandwich was the best I've had in a long time, and the goats cheese on toast was fantastic.

Staff were pleasant and the cafe was lovely and clean. Our meals generally were fine apart from the chips which were overcooked and let the meal down. We would go again but probably won't have the chips again.

Met family at this Cafe for drinks. Think we timed it well as a coach 'load ' were just leaving as we arrived. Weather was good and many were taking advantage by sitting outside on the terrace overlooking the river. Always a good venue to meet up. Friendly service.

The food at this restaurant is wonderful, and they are dog friendly! We stopped by after visiting the motor museum, which is also dog friendly, and grabbed a quick bite to eat. The restaurant offers lovely views of the lake from the window, and there is plenty of outdoor seating for when the weather is nice.

This cafe offers a pleasant atmosphere with plenty of seating both indoors and outdoors. If the weather is nice, guests can enjoy watching the River Leven flow towards Morecambe Bay. It is recommended to carefully review the menu before ordering, as some prices can be considered quite high. For example, a can of diet coke cost £2.50. After looking at other prices on the menu, it felt like the cafe may need a defibrillator on hand for any potential heart attacks from the shock of the prices.

"Staff were very friendly, welcoming and efficient. They were also very kind to our dog. We had drinks and food and though the drinks were good, the food was not. The words 'frozen ' and 'microwave ' were forefront in my mind throughout. The mash potato I had with my pie was face meltingly hot suggesting the microwave was used, and my wife 's battered fish was mushy and watery suggesting it was deep fried from frozen. The batter was also only about 1mm thick and was like wise mushy. The meat in my chunky steak pie was definatly chunky but was a little too firm (not tough, just not tender. Probably the wrong cut of meat rather than badly cooked). I then had the caramel apple pie as did another member of my party. While his was hot, mine was cold. I had mine with cream which when it arrived, had bubbles in and was luke warm. What I think happened was that mine was microwaved first and then drowned in cream and left to sit while the other was microwaved. This mean mine cooled in the cream while the cream warmed. It also meant that the pastry on the bottom went soggy, and from the rest of the pastry, it didn 't seem like it had much crisp to begin with. Now I know that times are hard and pubs like this can 't be expected to make everything from scratch, but there are 3 other pubs close by and unfortunately this one is doing nothing to stand out from the others, in terms of food anyway. Overall, a nice place for a quiet drink, but I 'll not be back for the food. The only saving grace was the price; £80 for 2 rounds of drinks (1 pint, 1 coke and 2 halves per round), 4 mains and 2 desserts...I suppose you get that you pay for though..."
