Buca Manzoni - Menu

After spending 4 nights in Bologna, we found this hidden gem and decided to try. It was the best food we had eaten in Bologna. Proper Italian homemade pasta dishes and very reasonably priced. The staff were lovely and very informative of the menu.

Tipica trattoria bolognese, ideale per mangiare la cucina tradizionale. Tutto quello che ho assaggiato è stato buonissimo: crescentine con misto di affettati, la spuma di mortadella, i tortellini in brodo e la cotoletta alla bolognese. Bella l'atmosfera e servizio preciso e cordiale, nulla da segnalare.

This was a very pleasant place. We ate without a reservation at 7 pm,out of season. Local guests arrive at 8:45 so 7 is empty. Typical for Bologna. The food was good renditions f typical Bolognese specialties. I however am not a huge fan of tagliatelle or tortellini, but had to try them. Vegetables grilled and salad were great, large portions. Prices are gentle.

Tried it for dinner. My main dish was so bland, it was like something they give you in the hospital when you are on the bland diet. Veal meatloaf was barely seasoned and comes without any sauce or toppings. Pureed potatoes needed salt and butter. Spouse 's gnocchi was okay. Not terrible, but not great. Sorry to say it wasn 't a happy dinner in Bologna, a food-centric city.

restaurant in more than central location, is characterized by a culinary experience that I recommend to try. reception and attention of the staff (despite being in 11 and with children,) menu rich of dishes of the Bolognese tradition and not (to try absolutely cultivation with meats as appetizer the stinco as second,) quiet and very clean atmosphere. What to say, we will definitely come back!

We loved Buca Manzoni so much we went on our 1st day in Bologna, and our last! The food is excellent, and the crescentine were the best we had in Bologna. Asparagus was in season so we were fortunate to have several pastas with fresh asparagus on the menu. Service was great and the prices reasonable. Be sure to make a reservation for the patio so you won 't be disappointed. Thank you Buca Manzoni for 2 memorable meals.

I was already in this place a few years ago and I kept a very good memory, which was widely respected Saturday night for dinner. cutter of mixed cheeses and croutons with mortadella foam, Bolognese (measury) cooked with friggione and to finish the most good fried cream I have ever eaten. super honest account for the amount of stuff eaten, but especially for quality. if you are looking for a typical local Bolognese and in an ideal location for a digestive walk after dinner under the two towers, this is just the right place

The food and service started out great then rapidly went down hill. When they brought the incorrect first course they barely apologized for the error. It then took 30 minutes for the posta we'd ordered to cone out and when it did it was under cooked. I'm a chef and author of an Italian cookbook I'm keenly aware of what al dente pasta is and this was not that! When we let them know they wanted to tell us that's just the way the chef makes their spaghetti. Clearly a defensive stance for a sub par dish. We skipped this and went on to the next course which then took another 30 minutes to get to the table. They never offered another cocktail or apologized during that time or anytime after. Good f...

We spent 5 nights in Bologna, and this was our dinner spot on our first and last nights Wifey started us off with charcuterie, which was a huge portion of meats and cheeses, accompanied by perfect pickled veggies (a bit agrodolce . More than half went home with us, as we were saving ourselves for the next courses. The roasted veggies were fine. The menu was a bit light on vegetables, but we were here in late winter. Sliced beef with baked potatoes is perfectly grilled ribeye with fluffy roasted rosemary potatoes. The potato gnocchi was gloriusly fluffy and chewy (our girls call it pillow pasta .
