"We had our wedding reception at the oakesmere on 24-10-20 and couldn’t fault it. The communication was top notch and the staff bent over backwards to accommodate us our needs and made sure our wedding was “perfect”. Nothing was too much trouble !We had an afternoon tea which was delicious and our own beautiful room to enjoy for the day evening. We stayed in an AMAZING suite for our first night as Mr and Mrs. We can’t wait to return for our BIG wedding party in 2021. A special thank you goes to Charmaine, Charles and Emma for their support through out X"

"I've eaten here a number of times. It's menu is comprehensive and the food good. However this review is for the accommodation. It's a beautiful old building in which to say. I was in the spacious en suite room. I love the fact that its old character remains. It hasn't been turned into a bland corporate hotel look that so many pubs have copied. Currently they are not doing breakfast but at £65/night I think it's a bargain. However you are staying in a very popular drinking pub so if you don't like a bit of noise this may not be the place for you but to me it adds to the atmosphere!"

"We visited this beautiful little gem at the weekend after a particularly long journey. We were about 20 mins prior to them closing, despite this they happily made us lunch and served us without rushing or making us feel guilty about them clearly having to remain behind longer to accommodate us. The food was beautifully tasty and they even gave water and biscuits for our dog. We have travelled ALOT and to be given this level of service and kindness is rare. We were very grateful and extremely impressed by the food and choice of vegetarian options. A beautiful eatery with wonderful staff. Highly recommend and will definitely return again soon! "Visited on a very damp Sunday, while exploring the area, and this little gem was still so busy: continual footfall efficiently and happily welcomed, seated, and served. We ate brunch which included their Big Breakfast and the Cafeye Breakfast, both of which we'd highly recommend: they were delicious. "I called to place a takeout order for pickup, left my name, and there was another person with the same name scheduled to pick up their order at 6:30pm, while I was scheduled to pick up at 5:20pm. The person scheduled for 6:30pm arrived early and mistakenly took my order. They returned with my order after realizing the mistake, and the staff offered me their food since they had taken mine in error. However, I declined as I preferred to have my order freshly cooked. It was just a simple misunderstanding due to having the same name, despite our different pickup times. The situation was quickly resolved with fresh food cooked for me, and it was delicious. I have no complaints as the issue was resolved promptly. I will continue to order from this restaurant as I love their Chinese takeout. Happy New Year and all the best for 2023!"
