"We live around the corner and wanted to try somewhere new to eat instead of the usual pub breakfasts! We were not disappointed! We were greeted by a friendly young lady who promptly took our order and made our lattes. The food arrived in good time and although you can go places and have alot more food on the plate the amount served here left you full but not stuffed and feeling sluggish which was nice! Was nice to see unusual bread used as toast and not just cheap white sliced bread other places would use! I felt this little place had a nice community vibe to it and a few of the older patrons enjoyed a good chat with the chef and the server which is lovely to see! The price for the food was actually very reasonable for the quaility we recieved and wouldn't think twice about returning"

"There is so much to admire about the Black Horse in Little Weighton that it’s hard to know where to start. On a chilly March evening the bar area offers a warm welcome with a roaring fire and a convivial atmosphere. Tables full of families, couples and parties of friends tuck into generous portions of the finest local products East Riding has to offer, cooked to perfection and served with a smile. Thank Heavens we booked in advance! The menu offers a range of creative and inviting dishes that reveal the Black Horse to be no ordinary eatery. The food is exceptional and the service faultless. Also and importantly for someone like me there is a good range of wines many offered, handily, by the half bottle, perfect when you like a different wine with your starters and mains. This is just one of the many small details that sets the Black Horse apart and makes you appreciate its specialness. At a time of huge pressure on small hospitality businesses it is so good to see how the Black Horse is valued and supported by the local community to whom it offers so much. Long may it continue."

"We had a meal here on Saturday night a group of 5 of us. I had the home made curry and I have to say it was exceptional, all the food was home made, the staff were lovely too! We really enjoyed it. We were staying at Barn Owl cottage and I will definitely be returning here for a meal! Thank you Price per person: £10–20 Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5"

"My friends and I dined at this restaurant last Friday. The staff was extremely polite and attentive. The menu had a good variety of options and most importantly, the food was delicious. The decor was also nice. It was unfortunate to see that the restaurant was empty during prime dinner hours on a Friday evening. The waiter explained that they had recently taken over and many people were not aware of their restaurant. I truly hope that more people discover this hidden gem soon, as we had a wonderful meal and would definitely return. I encourage others to give this place a try!"

"Before our arrival, we called ahead to reserve a table for Friday evening as we had heard it can get busy and booking in advance was recommended. We made a reservation for 5pm. We had checked the menus online beforehand but were having trouble finding information about the opening hours, which was frustrating as we needed to plan around our children's feeding schedule. Upon arriving at our lodge at 4pm, we searched for information inside about the tearooms and how to get there as we were located on the opposite side. We couldn't find any visible site maps and were pressed for time as our table was booked. Luckily, we encountered a staff member who informed us that it was only a half-mile walk and advised us to call ahead if we might be running late. Upon reaching the tearooms, we were the only patrons there. Even when we left, there were only a few other guests. The staff were incredibly friendly and welcoming. We visited again on Saturday evening and once again found it to be quiet. Despite it being a lovely summer evening, there were no other guests around. It's a shame that guests may not be aware of this wonderful place. The Saturday menu only offered two choices: a meat platter or a meat and cheese platter, which wasn't ideal for children. However, the chef kindly accommodated our kids with plain white bread and child-friendly ham. Overall, we highly recommend it as a place to enjoy a drink, relax, and then take a leisurely stroll back to your lodge."
