Lovely food at reasonable prices. Good beer, friendly staff and a fantastic atmosphere. They were busy and had a wedding too. It didn't impact the service at all.

Stopped of at Bird in Hand on way to Ashby, lovely old thatched pub with a bar and lounge, nice selection of real ales plus good pub grub. Well worth a visit if passing.

Been a couple of times recently and enjoyed each visit. Food decent as well as the beer! The barman knows the varied beer on tap. Great they are now free of the Marstons regime Voir le carte

Charming thatched pub located in a cozy little village. The atmosphere is rustic and welcoming, with delicious food and friendly service. It's wonderful to see that places like this still exist.

Once again the Bird in Hand proved what an excellent pub it is. We met old friends here several times before lockdown and have been looking forward to meeting them again. It didn't disappoint. Food, drinks, service and ambience all as good as ever. Thank...you and see you again soon.

Subsequent visits we have tried the Scampi, best we've had for years, plus a Rump Steak, which was tender and cooked to perfection.The service and atmosphere are also very good, portions are very good we would highly recommend this for food and drink. Seen on Facebook that the Bird in Hand in Austrey were doing burger nights every Wednesday and Thursday so thought we’d give it a try. Amazing!! Took us a while to choose which burger and loaded fries to go for but we went for the...El Capitano, the Rocket man and the pulled pork bbq fries and ended with a white chocolate honey comb cheesecake. Pub prices but definitely not typical pub grub. Already arranging to come back next week! Don’t normally write reviews but this definitely deserves one!

We recently moved to Austrey and are fortunate to have this charming thatched pub within walking distance. From our first visit, Sam and landlord Gareth made us feel very welcome. The selection of beers, gins, and wines is excellent, and the atmosphere is traditional, relaxing, and cozy. This dog-friendly pub allows us to bring our furry friend along. We have been enjoying the menu, with perfectly cooked steaks, delicious Sunday roasts, juicy burgers, and great vegetarian options. We have brought friends and family here for dinner, and they all agree that it is a fantastic pub. We highly recommend a visit to this gem of a place, whether you are a local or just passing through.
