"Unfortunately, this will be the final time we visit this restaurant. Our gut instinct told us to leave as soon as we arrived, but after spending £25 on a taxi, we decided to stay. Upon entering, we were not greeted and asked for our names, but instead encountered a noisy and cramped space. I had to act as the waiter and go to the bar to get a drinks menu. When our drinks arrived, they looked identical and were missing garnishes and ice. The server simply told us one had a straw in it to differentiate them. I then had to retrieve my own menu, as it was not offered to me. Our starters and mains were fresh and tasty, but the dessert experience was disappointing. My wife's dessert was so hard that the spoon got stuck in it. We asked for the bill multiple times, but it never arrived, so we left when our taxi arrived. The next day, the duty manager called me to say it was not acceptable to leave without paying, which was not our intention. I expect good service when paying for a meal. The atmosphere, service, and food were all subpar. I will never return to this restaurant, as we felt unwelcome and inconvenienced during our visit. It is a shame, as we were treated well during our previous visit. If you intend to be a restaurant, the sports bar image needs to be addressed. My favourite restaurant... well worth 5 star... but the BIG negative, hence the four stars, is the optional 10% service charge , really annoys me, this is my choice, not yours! I always ask for it to be removed, then I decide if the service has been good!

The service at this restaurant was top-notch, with attentive and friendly staff who made sure we had everything we needed throughout our meal. The atmosphere was also excellent, with a cozy and inviting ambiance that made us feel right at home. Overall, a fantastic dining experience that we highly recommend.

The hospitality at Bennett's Restaurant is incredible, and the food is fabulous. This was my first time dining here, and it definitely won't be my last. Really nice place that surprised me. I was surprised it wasn't much busier tbh. Food was excellent without being overpriced for a hotel. Service excellent and we had a large party. Would go again. Already reviewed hotel but thought the restaurant deserved a special mention. Firstly decor classy and simple, spacious with a mixture of seating. It was so refreshing to read a menu where I didn’t have to google something I’d never heard of or was restricted to one choice as I can’t eat spicy food. That’s not to say it’s a simple or boring menu it’s in a class of its own. They also have a comprehensive Vegan menu for those requiring such.
