"on a busy Saturday morning in the center of york we came to bella italia. we had no idea that they are a chain decoration pleasant, greeting very friendly and welcoming. we just didn't want a problem. window table excellent coffee-hot and tasteful. we chose two more coffees and concentrated in cheesecakes and tiramisu- both fresh and delicious. dean martin crawled in the background, busy, but not hectic - a perfect place to stop and charge. very good coffee if you can't drink another tee! viva bella italia!"

Lovely restaurant, helpful friendly staff (especially our waitress Renara) and excellent food. Menu clearly labelled for my gluten free requirements and even sign put on table to signify a dietary issue. Complementary limoncello icing on the cake! Definitely recommend booking in advance for a table as obviously very popular.

pizza came out of the slim and tasted ok. pasta dish was also lukewarm, but tasted beautiful. the service was great, apart from the waiter who asked if I wanted parmesan with my pasta and did not return with any. the rosmaringebäck was ordered, was told to the cook, they burned, but some will soon be out. some came hot, but were not rosemaryries, just plain. Let me go in the future.

The food was good and came quickly, service was very friendly and Matt couldn’t do enough to make our meal fun and that we had everything we needed, he was good with the kids. I tried to add an extra person onto our table before we arrived for our meal but, because of their automated phone system it was near impossible so we had to tell them when we arrived which wasn’t ideal for the staff and a bit awkward for us. It would be better if a real person picked up the phone! That’s my only fault.
