Had the most delicious carvery EVER last week! Choice of four meats I opted for beef (to die for) and unusual choice for me turkey but wow was delicious thanks all

We had breakfasts and dinners there. You get a lot for your money as the portions are more than sufficient. Very helpful and attentive staff. Lovely atmosphere. Great experience. Recommend.

Food every night was excellent. Menu choice was very wide and disappointment was they changed it on my last night so what I planned to eat was no longer available, but still managed to find something just as great

Ate in restaurant on one night only. Thought, very poor menu, lacking in variety and choice. Extremely expensive annd completely over priced. Poor quality food. Only bright spot was our very lovely young waitress,Emily.(I think)

Lovely carvery great value, we arrived without booking and it was extremely busy and it's very popular with locals...the manager very kindly had a table for two laid for us. This carvery was terrific value, the Resturant was spotless and service was with a smile...if we're ever in Barnstable on a Sunday we will definitely visit again Voir le carte

This restaurant offers high quality food for a premium price. Luxury fayre is the norm. The menu is fairly static so can become repetitive for regular guests, but there's plenty of choice for the most part. I'm not a fan of serving sides in separate dishes but that's a mark of the premium approach not specific to this restaurant! The food and service was excellent.

We stayed at the Barnstable hotel for a three night break. Each day we eat in the Brasseri resturant for breakfast and evening meal. First the service this was first class all weekend and i could not fault anything. Now the food well the choice at breakfast was endless it was fantastic and the food its self was cooked really well and everything was hot ,the evening meal was also fantastic with choices on all courses very good you may think until you come to Sunday evening when it is carvery day and what a meal it was fandabidosey I even had to go for a lay down afterwards they also do the carvery at lunch time and on our weekend they did 350 covers great fiod great team great hotel 10 out of...

My wife and I were staying as residents of The Barnstaple Hotel, but given that non residents can also visit the restaurant, have chosen to review it separately. Weeks before our trip to Barnstaple, we had looked at the menu, read the reviews and were frankly quite excited to be dining here. Residents of the hotel certainly do not need to venture in Barnstaple town to eat. My wife had the fish cake starter and I had the beetroot cured salmon both were excellent. My wife had the lamb main course and I had the sea bass. We were delighted with both of these, although I thought the highlight for me were actually the vegetable sides!
