eat as with the Italian mama, good, plentiful, cheap. great atmosphere and young but nice service. it's not all perfect, but it's just great.

lovely place inside an ancient natural stone structure including a beautiful cave. family management, fantastic food and great service. the dishes are all prepared at the moment, traditional Apulian cuisine, prepared wisely. we will return again with our samoydo dog

Posto molto caratteristico, noi abbiamo mangiato nella zona centrale ma attraverso una scalinata si raggiunge in piano inferiore, stupendo! Mi ha affascinata la storia raccontata nella prima pagina del menu. Storia che non vi svelerò xche dovrete scoprirla voi stessi recandovi a mangiare proprio presso la grotta . When so many restaurants are doing Southern Italian food 'with a twist ', this place is the real deal. Simple, traditional food as my grandparents made it. Everything, from the fave e cicioria and the cialleda to the pasta and the tagliata was an absolute dream. Do try the home made Amaro. We love this place so much we went back. Had we discovered it earlier in our trip we would have come back many more times.

Siamo stati per la prima volta in questo locale in occasione della sfilata medievale Federicus. Locale accogliente, rapporto qualità/prezzo ottima. Menù fisso per l'occasione, antipasto, primo a scelta, arrosto di carne misto, dolce , bevande, caffè e amaro incluso. Un locale trovato tramite le recensioni positive di google, che in effetti non sbagliavano. Antipasti buonissimi, primi caserecci e abbondanti, vino e carne alla brace tenerissima e saporitissima. Unica pecca, il dolce... Non credo siano stati opera dello chef dell'osteria, gli sporcamuss un po' bruciacchiati e il tiramisù lasciava molto desiderare... Ma per il resto sono molto soddisfatta. Eravamo in 5, abbiamo mangiato tantissimo e abbiamo pagato 20€ a testa.

OTTIMA CUCINA TRADIZIONALE e CARNE!! Nel centro storico di Altamura, in un locale antico, costruito con la tipica pietra bianca che caratterizza la Città, espone oggetti storici della vita contadina di un tempo. Cucina tipica della tradizione altamurana, compresa la 'pecora alla rizzola ' che e da prenotare visto che ci vanno ore a cuocerla! ; da provare anche la grigliata di carne. Prezzi contenuti (persino per la media altamurana e qualità eccellente, porzioni adeguate. Servizio efficiente e gentile.

The entrance is right away appealing, but when you go down the stairs in the cave, while outside the summer evening temperature is still high and you find yourself in a refreshing underground ambient, decorated with old tools and well organized, you already feel you did the right choice. Try everything! The quality and the final price will surprise you! If you are in Altamura, don't let you miss it! The cave of Santa Chiara is owned by a local family. Genuine Italian people indeed!
