"We had a delightful lunch at this cozy restaurant today. Two of us tried the carvery, which was delicious. The beef was perfectly cooked and the turkey was moist. There was also a good selection of vegetables. My husband particularly enjoyed the sticky toffee pudding, giving it a 10 out of 10 rating. The portion size was generous and it came in a proper pudding bowl with a good amount of custard. Our friends also enjoyed their meals, with one ordering a large cod with fries. The staff were pleasant and the manager was friendly. We thank you all and look forward to returning soon."

"Not knowing the area we drove to take a look at possible venues for a family Wake and felt the comfort of the Gardeners Arms on arrival. Sam and her team were kind and considerate, nothing would be too much trouble. On the day we welcomed around 70-80 guests who were all made comfortable throughout the rooms, the log burner already warming the space. The buffet food was a mixture of chicken, spring rolls, selection of sandwiches, coleslaw and potatoe salad, with a variety of sweet treats also. We had a guest with coeliac requirements and a plate was prepared in advance. We couldn't recommend this venue enough from our experience, and many of our guests said they would travel to return here for a meal as it was such a lovely experience at the Wake. "The staff at this restaurant were delightful. The server was very attentive and looked festive in her Christmas sweater. The food was delicious and there were many gluten-free options available. We had a wonderful anniversary dinner by the fire. The menu had plenty of choices for those with gluten allergies. Thank you to the staff for a great experience. Overall, we give the food a 4, service a 5, and atmosphere a 5. We highly recommend trying the Fish and Chips."

"I recently had an amazing Sunday Roast at this restaurant. It was by far the best I've ever had. The food was absolutely delicious, and the atmosphere was cozy and welcoming. The staff were excellent as well. I would highly recommend this place for anyone looking for great food. The prices were also very reasonable for the quality of the meal. Overall, I give this restaurant a perfect score of 5 for Food, Service, and Atmosphere."

"We went to the pub after making a reservation for 9 people to celebrate our friend's birthday, and we brought our dog along since we were away from home. The pub was dog-friendly, which was fantastic! However, when we arrived, we were seated at our table but were informed that dogs were not allowed in the restaurant area of the pub. We were given the option to sit at the bar, away from our group of 7 friends. Feeling awkward, we found our own table separated by a wall from our friends and were given menus. The waitress apologized for the inconvenience, but there was no solution offered for us to all sit together. Due to this, we made the decision to leave. If we had been presented with a more appealing alternative, we may have chosen to stay. It wasn't clear to us that dogs were not allowed in the restaurant area, but had we known beforehand, we would have requested a dog-friendly area."
