Very very slow to serve people and a little disappointed with the disorganisation. Quite clean and friendly but still need to serve and move faster. Lots of parking and close to the beach and local services. Food: 3 Service: 3 Atmosphere: 1

The fish n chips were nice enough (a little expensive) but the staffing was slightly off. Long wait as they also serve the connected cafe, the young staff members seemed to be a little lost in their roles. Maybe prudent to close for a day for staff training to get it right. The worst customer service I have ever experienced. Dirty tables, two clueless young girls ordered food with drinks had to ask 5 times for our drinks. The young skinny girl told us she did not want to be there. Food was ok. Our experience during a busy (wet) Sunday lunchtime service was completely different to all the recent 1* reviews. Fast, friendly, service, two generous portions of hot, delicious chips, great tea and coffee, clean tables and a spotless washroom. Well done ladies! Recommended! Family of 10, bought a takeaway to sit on their tables outside and enjoy the weather. My 3 year old needed the toilet and I went into the restaurant to be refused usage as we didn’t eat our food inside despite spending £70 with this business. Thankfully the awesome pub over the road (The Harbour) allowed my little one not to wet herself in public and use their toilet. We had lunch here a few days ago and were very disappointed. The party of six arrived around 10 minutes after the four of us. Four of them were given our order. They received an apology as two meals would be late. Not so ourselves. We asked if they'd given our order to the next table and that was confirmed but no apology. Three of us opted for the special but in fact it was a much smaller version of the regular with mushy peas and a pot of tea. People were complaining about the long wait for food. A very disappointing experience.

A clean and tidy restaurant. Tables clean/ not sticky. Good presentation on the food. Waitress was efficient and friendly. Didn't wait too long for mine hubby's food. The restaurant full buzzing which is always a good sign! 2 pie ., chips and peas, shared) 2 drinks and tea for 1 was £23. Not too bad on the price. All meals on the same size fish plate. Some Other items I think are over priced. Toilets clean. I would eat in the restaurant again if I was visiting. Great location. Myself and family in a group of 20 were up at Amble on Sunday scattering my Mams ashes and reliving some memories of many holidays and time spent here. We planned on finishing the afternoon with fish and chips from here but unfortunately we were refused use of the toilet facilities for two small children under 3 before being seated (presumably in case we simply used the toilets then left? Bearing in mind the place was absolutely empty I simply cannot understand the mentality of the owner. Needless to say they lost a sale of easily over £200 but after reading other reviews I don’t suppose the owner will be remotely bothered, sad memory to end a nice day.
