"Afternoon tea is probably one of the finer things in life, and something so delicate is great in the sense that it allows for a full range of flavours to be explored. However, it is also easy to screw up: flavour combinations might not work...and so much of it relies on the produce and presentation. I’m pleased to say that Ahh Toots isn’t just the best afternoon tea I’ve ever had, but one of the best meals I’ve had in Bristol. A brief mention for the shop itself: a small, dark yet utterly charming space, quirkily decorated with oddities and beautiful flowers. It doesn’t try to be the Ritz and has a character all of its own. The food itself was sublime. The sandwiches were a cheese and chutney, a cream cheese and lemon marinated cucumber and a rosemary infused egg mayonnaise. These were perfect examples of delicate food done so, so well. Dare I say they were probably the highlight of the meal, not detracting from the cakes, rather to the immense credit of the sandwiches themselves. The quality of the ingredients was incredible and the rosemary egg mayonnaise was inspired. My partner, an egg mayonnaise devotee, left with her eyes opened. The cakes were beautifully ornate. They weren’t flavours I’d traditionally go for gin, Guinness among others but being able to taste every layer was pretty special. You can tell that for the bakers here, cake is an art form. The centrepiece of any afternoon tea the scones, of course were gorgeous with a generous serving of cream and jam. This isn’t afternoon tea: this is an experience. Is it expensive? It’s all relative, and the occasion of an afternoon tea which demands pomp and circumstance alongside the precision required not to screw it up is perfectly catered for at Ahh Toots. In short, book it now."

Went to the shop on Christmas Steps based on the recommendation and wasn’t disappointed. Best carrot cake ever (and I’ve tasted a lot). Will definitely be back!

My husband and I visited Ahh Toots by the Christmas steps. We bought different cakes and a coffee (to go). We tried the jammie dodger blondie, salted caramel chocolate brownie and the banana bread. They were mouthwatering good.

We visited Ahh Toots yesterday for takeaway cake in lockdown! Had the Tiramasu cake and the apple and caramel cake both were amazing!!! Yes there was a long queue but no surprise, well worth waiting for.... Can't wait to return!!

Really enjoyed the Amaretti I had from the takeaway cake shop Ahh Toots and I was surprised with the large number of Vegan options available. My Wife really enjoyed the Vegan Chocolate Biscoff cake too! I would revisit to buy more takeaway biscuits. Voir le carte

What a feast for the eyes this shop window is. The cakes all looked so delicious the hard part was choosing. In the end chocolate/Guinness cake and ginger/biscoff cake were decided upon. Huge pieces enough for people and absolutely delicious. Fab place but not...for the waistline.

This is a fantastic cakery, with a wide choice of cakes, in addition to other sweet and savoury treats. Stopped here and quickly picked a slice of Chocolate Guinness cake as I knew the longer I looked, the more conflicted about my choice I'd become!...My partner had caramel and apple cake. Both were superb. Definitely worth a stop off if in the area.

I bought cupcakes for a present -My hospital treatment was coming to an end and I wanted to take something nice for the radiographers. They cakes were wonderful and the service was amazing -they even opened the shop two hours earlier than planned so that...I could collect the cakes on time. We were on a walk around Bristol, to Cabot Tower. ON the way out and up we found for the first time The Christmas Steps area. My eyes were on stalks when I saw the cakes in the window, every single one looked just amazing....On returning we opted to pop in to the back and have a pot of tea plus giner and lotus cake. What a delight the interior is. Small (as the houses were in that time), quirky, we had as much fun looking at all the books and objects as we did enjoy the tea and cake break.
