"The restaurant is in Praza da Leña, a pretty and atmospheric small square in the old town. The area is busy with many restaurants; so, arriving at 9.45 pm, which is peak dining time, we were, we thought, lucky to get a table in A Casa Da Leña. We ordered drinks and a main course each. Service was slow and my partner 's meal of scallops (very good) was served only at 10.30. However my meal, a rice dish with prawns and scallops (tasty, but light on the seafood component) did not arrive until after 11 pm. We had dessert and coffee and asked for the bill around midnight. At this point I was told that we had to pay in cash. I was astonished at this as, because of Covid-19, official advice was to pay with a card, which we had been doing in restaurants for many weeks without any problem. Consequently we did not have enough cash so I was sent off on foot into the new town looking for a bank. Being unfamiliar with the area, this took me half an hour, so we finaly left the restaurant at a quarter to one in the morning. The manager told me that their credit card terminal was not working, but when I suggested to him that he should have informed me of this when we arrived, he said that 's the bank 's problem, not mine . Of course it turned out to be neither his nor the bank 's problem, but rather mine! If you do decided to try the place I suggest you bring lots of cash!"

Un sitio agradable para comer, buena comida pero el servicio un poco deficiente. La ración de pulpo muy pequeña para el precio que tiene. Precio normal.

La atención del personal ha sido exquisita y muy agradable. La comida es sencilla y con una gran calidad. De hecho en tres dias en Pontevedra hemos cenado dos y repetiremos en próximas visitas. Nos ganó el paladar.

We had dinner here twice. Food was lovely. Fish perfectly cooked. Meat excellent quality. Pork and wild boar was amazing. Secret de cerdo and pressa iberico. Lovely. Really excellent wine. Good basic traditional and excellent quality. Really good value for money.

This place is one of the several eating options in possibly Pontevedra's cutest square. Or at least the smallest. Praza da Leña. Firewood Square. There's a small eating area outside and more room in an upstairs comedor. I recently had churrasco (ribs) there and they were excellent. The young waitress was very pleasant but my daughter had a young baby with her and this always helps in Spain.

Sitio de 9 en Pontevedra. Las raciones muy abundantes y ricas. El pulpo muy bueno y con mucho aceite, las navajas de lo mejor y la tabla de quesos también genial. El vino excelente y el servicio a la altura. Pongo 4 estrellas porque no consiguen bien el punto de la carne: hemos venido dos veces y la han puesto demasiado hecha cuando habíamos especificado que la queríamos muy poco hecha, “marcada”. Precio: 30€ cabeza.
