"The setting is pure Savoyard rustic yet very comfortable. The menu and the local dishes were wonderful. The price with a bottle of local wine was reasonable for staying at this 5* hotel at 100e for two. So...what ruined our meal? If you read my review of the hotel I talked about the exemplary staff. Well..it was the opposite here. Possibl one of the rudest staffs outide of Paris and when you are paying 500 euros a night for your room...you expect a bit more of graciousness and attention. First...our waitress who served us and was the main server seemed annoyed when we would ask for clarification and had questions. It couldn't be the language speak because I speak fluent French. She almost had a bit of a scowl on her face. we ordered the wonderful Charcuterie and cheese place s a starter. First..the brought over a few pieces of petit toast to go with this gigantic platter. I asked another waitress for more petit-toast and for the local, tasty bread as we never received any. She also was annoyed. After about ten minutes we noticed some of the French guests leaving their tables and coming back with more charcuterie. We had finished ours and as we were really curious (and really hungry)...we stopped our waitress and asked where these diners were returning with plates of more of what we had. She told us there was unlimited charcuterie at a biffet in he main dining room. I asked her why she hadn't told us before. She barked at us that she had and walked away. She had not said a word! We were really pissed that we had been sitting there for 10 minutes after finishing our platter while the French guests were trying all thse wonderful things at the buffet included in our price! We finally got up and it was an amazing buffet of meats and fruits and breads and it was just wonderful. I can't fault the food in this wonderful bistro nor the generosity. But we really felt slighted by the staff. Our entrees were very good as I had the local lamb done to perfection with a side of an savoyard version of Lyonais potatoes. And my husband had fresh lake trout but when we went to order dessert. I made sure to ask her if it was a buffet if you ordered "Les desserts de Grandmere' as we saw people coming back and forth with plates full of several desserts. "Of course it is a buffet. Didn't you see it when you came in the restaurant" was the reply of the other waitress in our alcove of he main dining room. What an amazing sampling of hearty traditional desserts. Incredible. Honestly...if the service hadn't ruined the dinner...I'd be giving it 5 stars. Maybe they were short staffed or .who knows. But you don't treat guests at a hotel of this level..or any restaurant anywhere...as these dames did that night. The night of26/7!"

Aller. Peu d'endroits sur Terre lui correspondront"
