"We went here for my granddaughters 9th birthday. She had picked this as when she had gone before she always felt special and the owners when on site presented her with a turtle made of fruit. This evening when we arrived we were asked and their was 14 of us what time would would finish our meal as they expected a party of 25 after us. This is not what you expect on arrival. The food was hot and frequently filled up. We had fish cooked to order which was nice and chips, which were disappointingly fries (my pet hate). All starters were of a good standard,, the mains lacking choice mainly consisting of some type of chicken. Foo yung had added onion, cheese and ham as a filling. I asked if we could have the foo yung without the cheese and onion and was told the cook had said no he was too busy, they were getting a party of 25 coming in. Most places we have eaten have taken on board our request happily, but not this place. The party y of 25 were not even arriving when we left. The puddings were not the best. Victoria sponge, cheap Swiss roll that can be purchased in a big slab from the freezer shop next door, jelly which had lumps in and ice cream that was cheap that was very icy. I have eaten here before and requests are looked upon more favourably even when busy when the owners were on site. I have given this an average score as that is what it was tonight. Had the chef been more accommodating it may have got a better score. The bar served Pepsi from a 2 litre bottle which you can get in most supermarkets for just over a pound. 2 large glasses cost us just under £5."

"Today we went at 5.30pm to the Siam, it was our second choice as the Shippons was full all evening. When we arrived there was no one there, we ordered of the menu as they had stopped serving all you can eat for £20 a head. We both ordered hot prawn soup, it was spiced milk with 4 prawns in each at £6.50 each, there was no complimentary prawn crackers at this very inflated price and it was in a small bowl at £13 for two bowls it was absolutely yuk. We explained to the young waiter that the flavour was not nice and he obviously relayed this back to the manager who basically did not care. No alternative was offered. We had already ordered our main meals which where where beef in black bean £9.70 and my other half ordered beef schezuan £17 we then had to order rice for £3.20 a portion as it came with no rice so one meal was exceeding £20!! Other was approx £13 plus. Well it was smaller than a child's portion and total bill for food was just below £50. The manager did not remove the soups nor did he apologise, for portion size. We both left and came home for something to eat. due to minimum portions, on leaving I explained the above and the manager stood back whilst his smarmy cashier took the money. We paid and explained we won't be going back, we now know why the resteraunt was still empty at 8pm but the shippons was full all evening. Siam you will be closed soon unless you get a grip £20 for a meal that we could have got from a takeaway and would have done two off us for £6. Your arrogance shrines out brightly."

"Went there with 5 others and again great night out. We go fairly regularly as we know it's going to be perfect and it always is. Can't believe some people give it 1 or 2 stars, but many, more give it 5. Here are some poor raring comments which I will comment on. Slow service. Well have a drink with your friends or family while you wait. If you're that desperate to go home, stay there instead or go to your local McDonalds. You lot probably all gathered round on your phones, sad. Expensive. What do you want for 20-30 quid please. Stay away. Poor advice from numpties who should stay away. Corkage charge. So what!! you've got a choice. My god £1.50 and you can bring your favourite drinks which are cheap from super market eg bottle of wine including corkage about 10 quid, most restaurants charge about 20-30 quid for a bottle of wine. You can buy drinks from the restaurant if you wish but they are not over priced. Tasteless food. Must be a covid thing, never had a bad meal there yet. If you have any issues tell the staff while your there instead of cowardly reviews and the typical moaning to try to get some form of compo. My advice is to anyone who's never been, try it for yourselves and you be the judge, not from some half witted idiots. Make's me angry because the staff are fantastic. When you do go make a night of it, take your time and enjoy the experience and if you wait a bit so what, what's the hurry? I was there last Friday, spent about 2 hours enjoying a night out with my friends. Nearly left my glasses behind and a staff member ran after me outside with my glasses."
