"Now I’m not someone who ever complains or a ‘Karen’ so to speak but this was so apalling and frustrating I have to say something. We should’ve known what myself and my boyfriend were in for when we saw a couple walk out before ordering. We were upstairs with a 3 large table of teens who kept walking around, throwing things. But whatever we weren’t too bothered were very patient people. When we ordered we waited an hour. Yes, an HOUR for x1 dough balls and chicken wings We had only started eating them for 3 minutes when suddenly our mains came out. The woman (purple hair) was incredibly rude when she handed it to us. Also… the pizzas were FREEZING Going to Antarctica for a holiday is probably warmer than the pizzas that were served. We asked two separate members of staff for our water and dips we ordered. When we finally asked a 3rd member of staff she didn’t give us glasses for the water and was never seen on our floor again. We paid on the app and left as soon as, staff were ignoring us as we left, no one asked during our meal how it was. No one said goodbye and thankyou as staff etiquette goes when you leave a restaurant. I understand that it was a Saturday night and probably very stressful and busy. But clearly no communication amongst staff as when we left, staff members by the chef station were clearly having a domestic between eachother (awkward)"

"We booked a table for Sunday Dinner at 12:30am. On arrival we were greeted by a friendly female staff member and we requested a quiet table. We were taken to an area of the restaurant which had been sectioned off, so there were no other customers there. One slight problem was that it was located directly under the air conditioning so some of our party found it cold. However, when this was mentioned to the staff they made some changes to the settings to make it a more comfortable temperature . The other issue with this area was that the carpet was very worn and sticky. As I have already mentioned though this area had been closed off. The restaurant seating on the other side of the closure had new carpet. I therefore suspect that the restaurant are working on replacing the carpet and that the area we were in as we had requested a quieter area had not yet been done. The menu was very varied and we found options to suit everyone’s taste. Staff were very helpful and friendly when ordering at the bar. The food was served in a reasonable amount of time but given that the restaurant was not very busy possibly should have been quicker. However, when the food arrived it was hot, well presented and above all tasted good. We all enjoyed our meal, the only small problem here was that the carvery had run out of roast potatoes and so the person who was having them had to wait. They were brought to the table with a few minutes so this was not a big issue and I’m sure it is hard for the restaurant to gage how much of each carvery item they need to have available. The fact that it was handled in such a good way by the staff illustrated to us that they were doing their best. We ordered refillable sodas and the refill station was easily accessible and clean. It did indicate that various flavours could be added to drinks but this option didn’t seem to be available. Tea Coffee refills were also in a good position with all required items available and again the area was clean tidy. Desserts were served very quickly and on the whole very enjoyable although the people who had the Banoffee Cheesecake were not very impressed and found the cheesecake topping to be very powdery and not pleasant. Overall , we had a lovely dinner and we all said it was one of our best experiences of dining out for quite some time. I have mentioned a few small things that weren’t perfect but these were far outweighed by the service of the staff and the enjoyable food. We will definitely be visiting again."

"Where do I start....... we went here as a family treat on a very rare day off over the kids holidays. We had booked a table that they clearly hadn’t been aware of but we were still seated immediately. So firstly we placed our order at 2 o’clock and didn’t get any food for the next 45 minutes!! Now you might think it’s because they were busy? But no, there were only 4 tables of customers and at least 4 members of staff! Now onto the most important part (FOOD . I can honestly say that this is the worst meal I’ve ever paid for. I had the veggie breakfast (not a tricky meal!! that was disgusting. I had eggs that were so overcooked that I couldn’t cut them with a knife!’ The hash browns were the opposite as they were barley cooked and covered in cooking fat (it was all inedible . So onto my wife’s meal (naked burger and salad the burger was ok (ish but did have lumps of gristle in it! The salad on the other hand was so old it had gone bone dry with carrots that had started to go black. My wife couldn’t eat any of it and left the restaurant hungry! The kids had burger and chips that were also full of stale salad. This is the first time I’ve ever left bad feedback but felt I should share this to save others wasting money. No once did any member of staff ask if the food was ok or why we hadn’t eaten any of it! We’ve been to a few similar restaurants in Watford and all of them have been a million times better than Ed’s. We will never ever eat here again "

"Yesterday evening at 7:30pm we ordered a takeaway from this curry house, local to my Mum. She had used them previously and the curry was good and they delivered on time. (This is the only reason I have given a review of Poor rather than Terrible. On this occasion however, having ordered over £100 of curries and sides, our order took almost 2 hours to be delivered they had said an hour. When we phoned (4 times to find out where the driver was, we were told he'd left and would be with us soon. (They had the full address and postcode and had been there before. They also had my mobile number. When he eventually arrived he had 3 bottles of beer to give us as an apology for his lateness so he obviously was still on the premises when we'd called. So the lateness was an issue as was his tone; as was the fact that when we called the curry house with the driver still with us, they insisted that the manager would not be available until after 22:30 and so they couldn't do anything about the problem. I don't buy that. The curry itself was also an issue. We would have had a far more flavourful curry by cooking one ourselves using Pataks curry paste, if only we'd known earlier! I think they'd run out of spices, and they clearly didn't know Makhani Dahl from Korma sauce, because that's what we'd got. My Karahi (Korai Lamb was bland, more like a stew and the naan bread's were definitely not garlic. I dislike writing bad reviews I just tend to not go back. But this time I felt it necessary as even though we didn't pay the full amount we gave the driver £100 instead of the £112.20 they'd asked for, it really wasn't worth the money we were all just so hungry that there was no other option. I can only imagine that they had new/different staff in from when my Mum last ordered, and they fell apart because it was a Saturday night and had over committed on their deliveries. It's no excuse though, don't waste your money."
