"My husband rang to book early bird only to be told that the only time available is 4.30pm as Vida was fully booked. Not a problem, so came at 4.30pm only to find out that the restaurant is empty, there are only 4 other tables occupied and that's it! Probably, they were fully booked or did not want to serve more as there was only one lady, in black/white top, quite big build there trying to serve those 4 tables.By the time our drinks and next table were taken, it took at least 20 min, as both of us took 2 for £10 offer on cocktails. The couple at one table finished starters and was waiting a while for the plates to be cleared and second course served as well as we were waiting for our food order to be taken as the lady who was serving very slowly was having a good bye conversation with another table who have finished and were going.May be it would have been good for her to let them know that since she was the only one, she needs to attend to the customers but she was not in a rush chatting, while we were there waiting for her to finish.Since the sale of Vida it just lost it's va va voom, great service and ambience, food is still good and of great quality but service has gone down hill for sure. The early bird in next door Borrello and Linguiny are always amazing and great, while on the several occasions we have been, it has been quiet, not welcoming and somewhat cold service. At the end, on the bill we were also charged 2 for £12 for cocktails, not 2 for £10 as advertised, but I said to the lady it might as well be classed as tips, as luckly 2 more younger, much more faster and proactive girls have arrived for about 5pm.Sorry Vida, I think I will give you a miss for a few months and stick to my favourite Linguiny or Borrello, but if and when I come back, I would like to see some improvement"

"I started with the vegan chili 'squid', made with lightly battered king oyster mushrooms in a sticky chili coriander sauce. It perfectly captured the texture of squid, which I've missed since going vegan almost three years ago. My partner had the sticky vegan 'ribs', which were made from mushroom soy protein with a sweet and spicy sauce. The texture and flavor were spot on, and not overpowering at all. For the main course, I had the vegan donburi, featuring shiitake mushrooms in a spicy sauce with edamame beans, kimchi, and a vegan egg made from coconut. Everything worked together perfectly, with each element complementing the others. Even the vegan egg was surprisingly good, although a bit soft due to being made from coconut. My partner opted for the teriyaki vegan 'chicken' udon, which had a rich soy protein flavor and a chewy texture, similar to pork. He enjoyed every bite, although there were a lot of noodles in the dish. For dessert, I had the bananenkatsu, which was banana coated in crispy breadcrumbs with caramel ice cream and toffee sauce. It was absolutely divine and a must-try. My partner had the chocolate orange cake with miso caramel ice cream, which he reluctantly shared a bite of but quickly regretted, as he wanted more. We washed it all down with an invigorating ginger 'no-jito' and plenty of water. The service was excellent, with friendly staff who provided great insights into the dishes and recommendations. I even inquired about cooking classes, which they unfortunately didn't offer, but I was directed to check out Wagamama Steve on YouTube. Overall, a fantastic dining experience that I will definitely be repeating."
