"Whatever happened to the K-Wok of old? It used to be our go to place when we passed through Biggar. Not any more and if the local people are to be believed it’s since new owners took over a while back.Where to start? We walked into the shop and a very happy staff member took our order of a chicken curry and rice and a side of chips to share. Paid for them and waited for them knowing they’d be good. Girl on the counter checked with the kitchen and was told my order would be ready in 20 minutes. We went for a stroll and came back 20 minutes or so later but we couldn’t get near the shop for phone order customers waiting for their food. One lady I spoke to was told to come to the shop in 45 mins which she did only to find her order wasn’t ready for her. It eventually arrived in 90 minutes! This was the view of the crowd of 8 of us waiting outsideAnother customer who used to get his food delivered now collects his order from the shop by walking into the shop with no pre order and that way KWok chefs (if there’s more than one) cook his food in 15-20 minutes. My order finally arrived in 55 minutes which was wholly unacceptable and so we won’t be using the shop again for that reason. No harm to the lady on the counter. She asked the kitchen for updates and nobody in the kitchen would tell her what was happening. The manager refused to come out front when I asked for her saying she was too busy for customers. To sum up since the change of ownership this place has taken a nose dive. There used to be a happy, jovial atmosphere and banter from the staff and customers. That’s all gone now. The once beautiful curry sauce has been replaced by gloopy tasteless mess and the rice has been changed to some cheap brand which makes it taste awful. We’ll never be back to this place whilst the present people run it. It’s cash only as well which we found odd in this day and age. Best thing about the place? The lady on the front counter that attempted to keep everyone happy.Staff 10/10Food 2/10Timing 1/10Managements attitude to customers and staff 0/10"

"Attended recently for a family dinner we have been going here for years and it used to be a firm favourite. Firstly, on this occasion the food wasn 't to the usual high standard. Not sure if there have been staff changes in the kitchen but it just wasn 't to our liking. Which is fair enough and a matter of opinion. The main issue is what has put me off returning, and that was one of the female staff members. We had a young baby in our party, who was welcomed heartily (great start) and given a high chair. One staff member in particular was keen to make a fuss of the baby (again great) and offered her hands out to take the baby. This was politely declined. Baby was sat happily playing with a spoon which the waitress for some reason decided to come over and take from her, and then sing and clap in her face, causing the baby to cry. A short time later same waitress brought a bottle of prosecco to the table, and proceeded to hand the twisted metal and Cork to the baby (taken back promptly by childs parent). Another short time later same waitress approached the table and handed baby a prawn cracker which again was taken back with a 'no, don 't do that please ' by the parent. Same waitress then proclaimed some chips will be good for her when the food was brought to the table. She was nothing short of irritating, continually putting her hands in babies face, pushing interaction from the child. All it meant was that the babies parents could not relax, could not eat in peace and were also on high alert for the next dangerous article or inappropriate food item to be given to the baby. Whilst it is always nice to be welcomed as a family and nice to have your child admired, our whole party was shaking their heads in disbelief. I 'm afraid it has put us off returning as it was not an enjoyable or relaxing experience."

"Ordered from Jimmy Wan 's East Kilbride on Wednesday September 27th 2023. I 've not tried Jimmy Wan 's for a few years far less review it. I ordered a Breast Of Chicken Curry, Large Fried Rice, Curry Sauce, Chips Prawn Crackers. With delivery this came to £21.60 £2 tip for delivery driver who was very polite. What can I say, WOW, I was absolutely stunned by the portion sizes. Breast Of Chicken Curry was absolutely brimming with succulent soft sliced Chicken Breast. Chips were cooked to perfect again the portion was plentiful for the price charged. The portion of Curry Sauce the big carrier bag full of Prawn Crackers put other Chinese takeaways to shame (Mata Hari I 'm talking to you. Eight Prawn Crackers in a bag for £2.50 a portion of Curry Sauce which contained about 50ml for £2.70) Well Jimmy Wan 's has beaten you all ends up. Reasonable sized extra portion of Curry Sauce the Prawn Crackers were the old school kind like we used to get in the 1980 's (My absolute favourite). Large Fried Rice more than filled two people going half with the entire meal. Curry was nice without being overly spicy but again Jimmy Wan 's does offer Hot Extra Hot Curry for a small extra charge. Overall compared with the letdown that is now Mata Hari across the street from Jimmy Wan 's, the quality quantity is miles better at Jimmy Wan 's. I 'll not wait as long to place another order that 's for sure. Thanks again to all the staff at Jimmy Wan 's for an excellent meal. There 's only 'Wan ' Jimmy Wan 5* this time from me."
