"Surely to goodness we can dish up something better than this pathetic effort to greet the tourists in our “World Heritage Site”. With two hungry toddlers, we had no option but to eat in this service forsaken establishment. Exorbitant pricing for the meagre selection on offer. It was only 1:30 pm and we were advised that the kitchen had no bread with which to make the kids a plain sandwich. No hot food on offer. The soup pot was empty but they did manage to rustle up some disgusting “packet soup” that was loosely described as “Pea Ham”…….it was served with a scone runny butter. The two “Senior Kitchen Staff” appeared to be in crisis talks while their bewildered young serving staff were left to face our International guests, most of whom did an about turn and left the facility and most likely cut short their experience of one of Scotland’s “prime tourist attractions”. This surely cannot be a commercially viable business who fronts up this abomination? It reeks of a Council run effort……. The Lanarkshire Council Directors will no doubt be enjoying their vacations on The Riviera, meanwhile on The River Clyde, we Scots are being served a Big Riddy!"

"We ate here for three days during our equestrian holiday. The food was amazing! You won't find a friendlier and accommodating staff anywhere else. We loved every meal and enjoyed chatting with the staff and other guests. Very relaxed atmosphere!"

"Waited over an hour for a delivery. When food arrived it was freezing cold and not of the quality you would expect. Called the shop immediately to request the driver collect the food and issue us a refund to be met with an extremely aggressive gentleman that informed us if we wanted a refund we would need to drive to the store with the food (which was not possible for us, hence the reason for a delivery). He then hung up the phone. We were out of pocket with inedible food. Disgusting behavior from the staff."

"Just stopped in while on a business trip. The place was busy which is always an indicator to how good the food could be. The waitress was attentive and quick even during the busy period we visited. Always asking if we need a drink, how is the food etc. Chicken wings here are some of the best I've tasted. The platter shared between 2 was huge and came with generous sized various dips. The burgers were nice but the topped fries were really the standout piece of the meal. The pulled Brisket was tasty and chips plentiful all served on a cast iron pan. Would definitely recommend a visit here if you like American style food. Thanks for the grub!"

"I visited this restaurant with my boyfriend who is not vegan. The ambiance of the venue was lovely, however, the food choices were disappointing. The non-vegan options were average and when I requested a vegan menu, I was given the regular menu with items crossed out and "vegan" written in pen at the top. I chose one of the three highlighted vegan options on the menu, only to be informed by the chef that they couldn't make that dish vegan. I ended up with a very plain pasta dish with just oil and broccoli, and there were no vegan dessert choices available. Overall, I would not return to this restaurant."

"Frankie & Benny's restaurant at East Kilbride's Olympia Mall Centre is fantastic. The food and service are top-notch, and the staff are incredibly friendly - it feels like a home away from home, which is why we keep coming back. The manager is wonderful, the staff are well-trained and welcoming. Make sure to say hello to Karolina, who has a delightful personality. During our visit, we were looked after by Samantha and Keith, but other team members also made us feel welcome. The menu offers a wide variety of options at great prices - we highly recommend trying their burgers. The welcoming and friendly atmosphere at this restaurant is truly exceptional, and we can't recommend it enough."

"For Kris B. and I, the Picture House is a means to an end; if we're feeling too lazy to venture into the city centre or the west end, The Picture House is on hand for a drink and some pub grub. I think it's Belhaven who own The Picture House but don't quote me on that... The food is actually of a pretty decent quality; no grey-looking burgers or rubbery chickens here! I've had various meals here of late, and all have hit the spot pretty well. It's not haute cuisine but you come away feeling sated and you get a fair deal for your money. Good selection of beers usually as well, and they almost always have some sort of drinks festival on, so keep an eye out for those... The downside to The Picture House is that on busy days its security can let them down a little. I've seen more than a few ruckus' kicking off with the bouncers doing very little to help, and Kris B. has, on occasion, spotted people indulging in some nose-candy in the bathroom on a Saturday night. Just ew. The only reason we still go is because we've lived here long enough to know what days are fine and when to avoid this place like the plague. But if it gets any worse, toodles!"

"Popped in for a little treat and wasn't disappointed. Very friendly people and a lovely welcome. Nice variety in the Menu and everything is made fresh to order. Good selection of home baking too which all looked delicious. We had the home made Lentil soup (you get a choice of serving size, as well of types of soup) which came with lovely brown crusty bread and some salad, and a baked potato with sweet chilli chicken which came with home made coleslaw, crisps and some salad as well. My daughter enjoyed her potato but was expecting the chicken to be warm, like the potato, but it was very tasty anyway. Drinks were a Diet Irn Bru and a Mug of creamy hot chocolate you get a choice of size of drinks too, which is another nice little touch. Prices are very reasonable and there was a constant turnover of people visiting. Nicely decorated inside with plenty of room too. Would go back and also recommend it if you are in the area."

"Absolutely fantastic place for a family meal. The kids absolutely love the soft play. It was buzzing when we were there, very very busy which instantly makes you think this will affect the service. However the service was fantastic. Such a great team, so efficient, attentive and on top of everything. They didn’t keep us waiting for anything. Always making sure we were ok and if we asked for something it was immediately brought to us. Not easy to find service like this. Such friendly staff who clearly want to be there and genuinely care about giving an excellent experience. Very impressed. Food always delicious and always piping hot."

"Perhaps the worst restaurant experience I've ever had saved by a brilliant waiter called Johnathon who was an absolute credit to this restaurant. We didn't receive any apology from management and we waited over 1.30 mins for food and we only ordered mains. We booked for 7pm and didn't get our meals until 8.45 I also had my two year old toddler with us as we were celebrating her cousins 18th birthday. She was the last to be served her food. We had to wait a long time for drinks and my wine came after I had to rush my meal as we had to Leave quickly due to one of my family members starting working. Didn't expect to be waiting so long. The lovely Johnathon was very attentive and apologetic about the food being so slow however we would have appreciated a senior to speak to us. I have been to this restaurant many times in the past but I can say that I will now never be back again after tonight. It was a disgrace. I wish the waiter Johnathan well and I would love to have him as waiter again but it won't ever be at this restaurant. If I could give 0/5 I would."

"Went here after seeing the positive trip advisor reviews and we weren't disappointed. Went as a group of 6 age ranges 3 to 81 and there was something for everyone. They were very friendly and welcoming as soon as we walked in and put 2...tables together for us. We all had variations of the breakfast which was delicious and well cooked Lorne sausage, bacon, egg, beans, potato scone, haggis, black pudding and toast. Was absolutely delicious, meant to take a photo but we all started tucking in straight away. Tea served in pots. Really friendly staff. Everyone else's food looked appetising too and the cakes on display looked amazing though we were all far too full to try them. Will definitely be visiting again the next time I'm in EK"

"My friends and I visited this wetherspoons for a friends leaving night, Had a good laugh until the Tracy (who i assume was the manager) told us that if we didnt have ID we would have to leave by 8pm, okay that was fine but...at 8:15 my friend had bought an alcoholic free kopparberg, and at 8:25 Tracey came over to our table and asked for everyones ID, My friend who had purchased the alcohol free drink didnt bring her ID with her, was asked to leave which was fair enough but she wasnt allowed to finish her drink or take it outside and didnt allow any sort of refund as she had only had a tiny bit of it. I just found Traceys attitude really rude and frankly I was disappointed in how it was handled. I also work in hospitality and if i had treated a customer like this, I would no longer have a job. Hope this doesnt happen to anyone else and hope the attitude changes within this establisment."

"this restaurant is perfect for food and couples like us who are very densely packed and we like a good deal and good yummy food. apart from the chairs that we dont fit in THIS Restaurant is exceptional. i wish they would give us more food for the money we paid. me and my couple start smashing each other in the corner as it was such a privacy space and yum yum hard sausage. we stared smashing food as it was sooo good. guys we went to the bathroom because my husband needed to take a dump and it was all clean but smelled stinky. the worker told us to sash inn the toilet as it would be better but they said it was far too loud and messy. the food was very good and filled our jiggling expanding fat bellies. theowkrer was smexy"

"I used to really like Nibbles as one of the better takeaways in Lanark, but I echo the sentiments of the comments below that they've seriously gone downhill. The food (the last time we successfully received an order, which is probably 6 months or so ago now) is actually OK (experiences may vary), but the customer service and delivery are absolutely horrendous. Deliveries are frequently advertised as 45 minutes, which for a town this size is quite reasonable maybe an hour at weekends when it's a bit busier however, Nibbles consistently (as the other comments below verify) fail to deliver within 2 hours sometimes. You call the shop to chase and you're either met with young teenagers trying to deal with problems with little to no information, who often provide incorrect information as a result, or the phone simply rings out/goes to a busy tone and you can't speak to anyone. This isn't just a one off, this has happened numerous times to us and other friends/family who live in Lanark. It had been a good few months since we last used them, but tonight we fancied a pizza and thought we'd give them a go. We ordered it at 17:15pm with a 45 minute delivery time it's now 8pm and there's still no sign of it (i eventually resorted to emailing them after 90 minutes, so maybe that did the trick and the order was cancelled), and nobody is answering the shop phone (even though it's engaged every other time we tried). Safe to say we went elsewhere tonight after an hour and will be doing so in future."

"Passed Bistro 6 a number of times thinking it was just another overpriced restaurant/wine bar establishment. Couldn’t have been more wrong! Visited it twice now within a week.The Scottish breakfast was an absolute treat, everything on the plate was delicious and presented beautifully. Food is served promptly, staff are friendly and helpful, and the place has a lovely ambient feel to it."

"Ordered from Jimmy Wan 's East Kilbride on Wednesday September 27th 2023. I 've not tried Jimmy Wan 's for a few years far less review it. I ordered a Breast Of Chicken Curry, Large Fried Rice, Curry Sauce, Chips Prawn Crackers. With delivery this came to £21.60 £2 tip for delivery driver who was very polite. What can I say, WOW, I was absolutely stunned by the portion sizes. Breast Of Chicken Curry was absolutely brimming with succulent soft sliced Chicken Breast. Chips were cooked to perfect again the portion was plentiful for the price charged. The portion of Curry Sauce the big carrier bag full of Prawn Crackers put other Chinese takeaways to shame (Mata Hari I 'm talking to you. Eight Prawn Crackers in a bag for £2.50 a portion of Curry Sauce which contained about 50ml for £2.70) Well Jimmy Wan 's has beaten you all ends up. Reasonable sized extra portion of Curry Sauce the Prawn Crackers were the old school kind like we used to get in the 1980 's (My absolute favourite). Large Fried Rice more than filled two people going half with the entire meal. Curry was nice without being overly spicy but again Jimmy Wan 's does offer Hot Extra Hot Curry for a small extra charge. Overall compared with the letdown that is now Mata Hari across the street from Jimmy Wan 's, the quality quantity is miles better at Jimmy Wan 's. I 'll not wait as long to place another order that 's for sure. Thanks again to all the staff at Jimmy Wan 's for an excellent meal. There 's only 'Wan ' Jimmy Wan 5* this time from me."

"Went on Friday 11 Jan. Made booking beforehand for 6pm. Whilst making booking was asked how long I wanted table for! This is not good customer service. My booking was for 2 people and apparently table was booked again for 7.30. Obviously you can take as long as it takes to be served! As it turned out we were served reasonably quickly with starter. Main course arrived maybe 5 minutes sooner than I would have preferred however dessert took 25 mins to arrive! As it was by now approaching 7.15 we were a trifle concerned. However, due to the wait my husband asked for another beer and at that point we were told they needed the table! We then explained we had been waiting for dessert for 25 mins and received an apology. Like others I would say the food is reasonable, drinks are expensive and it was too crowded for comfort. I will try it once more at a later point in the evening and see if that is better. Such a shame as Burnside is crying out for somewhere decent to have meal. Ciao Bella take note about customer service!"

"I enjoyed many lunches here in the past and our go to place for lunch when in the town centre but I was very disappointed with the service on our recent visit. We waited nearly 20 minutes on a seat which can happen when its busy but what was annoying was there were 3 tables lying empty when we joined the queue. It was one of these 3 tables that we were given 20 minutes later. There were 4 people also waiting in front of us in the queue and they didnt get a table until after we had finished our meal. They waited 45-50 minutes during which time many tables for 2 were seated. They could have planned it better and joined a couple of those tables for 2 to seat the party of 4 but the young man that had been left to deal with it looked new. The young lady in charge told them she had not realised they had been waiting so long. Even though the young guy dealing with the seating had asked her for help only to be snapped I cant make tables As I left I overheard the young lady in charge say to one of here team. It wouldn 't have been me waiting 45 minutes for just a cheese and ham toastie . This person was also quite rude in here comments to most of her staff as well constantly sniping at them and causing a very unpleasant atmosphere. The couple at the table next to us also commented several times about her attitude. As usual the food was good (except please change the chips back to the old ones they were much nicer) but I would consider trying one of the other restaurants now just because of the service and atmosphere being tense. Also asked for the bill but gave up waiting after 5-10 minutes and went up and stood in a queue at the till to pay with the other customers who had got fed up waiting on the bill."
