"looking for something cooler in this hot, torrid summer, we drove to the old part of scalea in the evening of the st. anne’s day, while most holidaymakers were there to celebrate at sea level in the city, strolling through the neon illuminated streets, who are waiting for the fireworks. in the street on the hills we drove with a view of a garden restaurant under the street, which looked very busy, so we stopped. we ordered three antipasti (starter) but giampaolo recommended us to have two. we should have listened to! the don pedro antipasto plate was a real solid of the seafood crispy freshly fried fish (squid, sardelle, garnel,) fish polpette with shrimp/slag and vegetables. another antipasto was boiled in umido fish in a broth / stock with tiny tomatoes that they invited to baptize their broth! here was the star of the show a filled squid with a damp filling of brot, garnelen, splashy tentakeln, oliven, kapern and other secret ingredients! superb! un sautee di cozze sauteed muscheln in a delicious tomato sauce. Unfortunately, the portions were so generous that we let them go cold, so learn from our mistake and they first have! Perhaps the staff could serve the dishes separately and not all together. an excellent meal originally prepared and delicious. the quality of the fish was of highest standard. go back to taste pasta dishes and other fish. very pleasant service. beautiful garden."
