"One evening we where on the way to an recommended place, but it was closed. Also it was quit late, so we searched for a restaurant and we found this place. It was a cosey place, also when it was already quit cold outside. The waiter reacted quit fast and took our orders and was also able to give me an recommendation, because the kitchen run out of tuna. The dishes we had at our first visit, pesce spada, pasta and some antipasto i cant remember was good, the pasta with onions was really good so good that I had to smuggle some onions with me in the plane. When we visited this place the second time, it was a total flow. We tried the antipasto arancio, which wasn't that nice, we had also a pizza marinara as an starter and the marinara was more a less a biscotto with tomato on top. I really have to say, that I eat marinara quit often because for me, it is the best pizza, if it is well made. The rest of our dishes where okay, but nothing special. So the total opposite of our first visit. Also the waiter was at this time not that attentively to us, like in the first and there where not more customers. So I really do not know what I should think about this place, one time the staff and food was good, the second time it was only disappointing. For the people who sit in front of the menu and think about the antipasto arancio, what could it be? It is just a plate with mixed antipasto, even if they serve very tasty marinated oranges with the pesce spada."

"we booked dinner in this place at suggestion of friends: I must say it was a good advice! as soon as we arrived we were impressed by the position: nice music, friendly staff, chic and elegant environment. we have selected several courses: tropea roll, roll head (sushi revisited with the flavors of the place,) red shrimps of mazara and pistachio (good good,) chopped fillet in pistachio crust of bronte and flakes of bread flavored (beautiful to the view and delicious to the palate,) cocktail of contemporary shrimps, friggimento calamari, other sushi. to conclude the lace truffle at the delicious pistachio! between us there was a celiac and he didn't even have any trouble dining. the idea of accompanying dinner with a cocktail (inviting) instead of the classic wine was very welcome. kind, attentive and friendly staff. the price maybe a little too high, besides The order “do it yourself” through the app is definitely avant-garde but less practical for those who are less intelligent. "This restaurant is a hidden gem. We tried three of the antipasti. All of them very original and perfectly balanced recipes. You do not expect such a high quality gastronomy in such a small village. The better restaurants around are typical Calabrian food. What you get here is an innovative cuisine using the local ingredients. Sea urchin, zucchini, sepia, calf cheeks, ... . Excellent wines as well. Which you can buy by the glass. Again, in other restaurants you take either the bottle for a better wine, or have to take the house wine which is most often low quality. Here, no obligation to take the full bottle. A wide range of choice of excellent local wines, white, rosato and red. All the details are right, the flowers on the table, the home-made bread. We will definitely come back and regret we discovered the place on our last might in Capo Vaticano."

"I am always very honest when I write reviews because I know that a lot of people are like me, i.e. before they go somewhere new, they read reviews first, and they make their decisions very much based or influenced from what they read. Currently we are in Capo Vaticano residing at La Campagnola. Our choice for this hotel was based on the photos, good reviews and price. When we arrived, the hotel exceeded our expectations, but about this, I already wrote another review yesterday. What I am about to write is about the restaurant. To my surprise, when two days ago we got hungry and were about to have dinner here, we decided not to do so. Why? Because as I always do, I went to seek what other people have written about the food, service etc. I read a considerable number of TERRIBLE and POOR reviews, so I immediately decided not to have dinner here. But I kept thinking and wondering, and I don 't know how many times I went to re check the reviews, not only from this site, but from others too. Why I was puzzled???? As the hotel is super clean, new and nice. The restaurant is the same place where we take an amazing breakfast every day. The breakfast items are so genuine, delicious and organic, grown here in the fields of the owners. The service is amazing. These people (this hotel is family run) are super friendly, helpful and professionals in their approach towards their customers. The place is super clean. So I was wondering why not only one, two or three people wrote terrible reviews. If one is lying, I can 't understand why 90 people are! ! ! ! ! In the other two days that we have been here, we noticed that the restaurant was always full up. If their service and food was so terrible, how comes it they were on both days full up????? This is what puzzled me. So at the end I decided that we are going to try to have dinner here, and I had a back up plan, that if we don 't like the food or anything else, we go elsewhere. I was very attentive to every detail. We were greeted with kindness, friendliness and with a professional approach. We were guided to a table and we were presented with the menu immediately. We were asked if we wanted some drinks and we ordered some. They were treating all the customers in the same way they treated us. Another thing that I want to point out is that when one enters their page on TripAdvisor, it shows that this is not a cheap eat restaurant, but shows that the price is to . I can now confirm that the food is delicious, very fresh, abundant and cheap. I took the mixed grilled fish. It consists of a very fresh whole sea bream as big as the pan, a slice of mouthwatering sword fish, some clamari and one king prawns. All this costs 18euros. I am going to upload all the photos. My son took a mixed grilled meat that consists of a piece of veal, pork and skewer a very generous serving. This costs 12euros (unbelievable). My husband took a starter of muscles 11euros and a calzone pizza that is very large and very stuffed for 9euros. All the ingredients were very fresh. I was brought up in a fishing village in Malta and I can assure everyone reading that I really know when fish is fresh and when it is frozen and old. All the fish I ate here was very fresh. With the food we were also presented with fresh bread, bread sticks, extra virgin olive oil, balsamic vinegar, salt and pepper. This was not all. After dinner, the owner lady came and offered us the dessert complimentary. This awed us. So I thought of coming immediately to my room and write about this experience so that everyone will know what in reality the service and quality of food is here. My family and I already decided that whenever we have free weekends and we find good Ryanair fares, we will return here to enjoy this lovely clean, new, comfortable hotel and the food of its restaurant. And I highly recommend. I hope that by this review, I can be of good guidance to anyone else who is still doubting whether to come here or not. I can assure you that I am being as honest as possible. I am not being sponsored or anything like that. I wish you a very good lunch dinner. And finally, I cannot not thank all the staff."

"Magnificent view and great service. I ordered the swordfish paccheri, but it must have been shellfish in the shell (to which I am allergic) and I had an immediate, violent reaction to the food. They didn't even take it out of the bill, but I was too weak of being ill to deny it. They should improve their internal procedures to ensure that shells are not in courts that it should not have."

"We decide to eat at the refuge for 2 reasons, once 4-5 years ago, in motion, I stopped to eat and the memory teased me, the second reason why my friend, lover of the mountain, always spoke very well.
