"While the menu primarily features Chinese dishes, there are also many Thai options, as well as some Singaporean and Malaysian dishes. There are simply too many options to choose favorites, but the chicken with cashew nuts and crispy chili beef are definitely at the top of my list. The satay chicken to start is also a standout! The staff are attentive and very friendly, managing to be accommodating even in a packed restaurant. They continuously checked in to see if we were enjoying our meals, and our water was refilled without us having to ask. The price for dinner is £19.50 per person, and there's a 10% service charge, which I don't mind at all. The service was flawless. Although it’s not the cheapest meal, the experience was worth every penny. Drinks and desserts are available for an additional cost, but after such a hearty meal, I had no room for something sweet. I do have a couple of critiques; the website's booking tool isn’t functioning properly. I called on the day of my visit because I hadn’t received a confirmation, and I was informed that there was an issue with the website, and in the future, I should book a table by phone. Additionally, the website mentions the dinner price as £18.50; while the difference is minimal, it's still incorrect. The website needs to be updated to prevent confusion for future customers. Overall, it was an excellent dining experience."

"AVOID AT ALL COST I booked a table for 4 when visiting my daughter . It was a sunny day and busy in the garden and the restaurant. We were sat inside . The waitress took our drink order which then took 10 minutes to come. When she bought our drinks she said she was going to clear the wine glasses and come back to take out order why did'nt she take our order at the same time ? We then waited another 10 minutes before we had to go and find another waitress to take our food order. We then waited 45 minutes for our food which only came as I chased another waiter. Could the food have been worth the wait ... No ! The roast meat was overcooked , all of the roast vegtables were soggy as were the green vegtables. I ordered a side of stuffing which was also soggy and the plate was swimming in gravy . My daughter had the lamb skewer which was tough and rubbery . All of the waiting could have been better had someone told us that there was a wait . They were horribly understaffed in the kitchen and the restaurant . I will not be going back"

"Great Brazilian shop family restaurant. The feijoada was exactly as I remember in Brazil, home made, and I could feel the love that Ivy (I hope is the right spelling) put in that plate! Something difficult to write in words but that feeling of a mom’s or auntie’s plate that has a special touch. Very good variety of dishes and snacks at a good price, made with Brazilian products. Easy to park in the nearby streets (for free for 2h). No doubt I would go again I want to try more, and 100% recommend it!"

"This is my second time at the restaurant. The first time I was not aware that I could book through open table, but that’s because I was rarely using open table back then. I was reading some other reviews and I felt that they did not do this place justice, purely because I think they must have a snobby personality to fault the staff and service just cause they have no patience. Anyways, I am here to write my review and that is what I shall do. I really like this restaurant for its authenticity and difference in service. The menus provided a arrange of meats and dishes. They do Hot pots as well as Koreon BBQ. I took my friend here. I told her we will be cooking our own food, she was weary at first but really enjoyed it after having experienced Koreon BBq for the first time. I can’t wait to visit again. I will be recommending The Soju to all my friends and family and anyone I don’t know. Thanks again guys : Koko"

"This is a gem of a find. We had a large family birthday celebration and the staff (Lucy and Lucian, and all the ones hidden in the kitchen beavering away to produce our food! made the whole experience very enjoyable and special. They were so helpful cheerful, attentive and efficient. The food was very good value, well presented and tasty, with a very wide choice with something for everyone. Each dish was cooked correctly (crisp chips deep fried items, the steaks and venison medallions cooked just right And they take Tescos vouchers! The place was packed from 12.30pm through to 2.30pm on this Saturday. Make sure you book! They have a car park, but you must put in your registration at the bar. I couldn't recommend it highly enough. Thanks guys!"

"Paid my first visit to the 'new ' Bull last night with a friend. Couldn 't fault the food, service and ambiance of the Bull all excellent. We both had the chicken breast with dauphinoise potatoes and my friend asked for a change from broad beans not a problem. I had sticky toffee pudding one of the best I 've ever tasted. Staff were attentive and friendly special mention to Sophie? If the Bull can keep up these levels I for one will return."

"This was my second visit to the Sizzling Spice in the space of a week or so. Sadly my mum is having an extended stay in the Royal Berks Hospital, and the Spice is situated close to the hotel we were staying in, whilst visiting. We live in Manchester and are spoilt for fantastic quality Indian/ Asian restaurants, so often find ourselves underwhelmed when on our travels, but not so at the Sizzling. In simple terms the food is great, and clearly cooked fresh to order. On this visit I re visited the wonderfully spiced Sheek Kebab starter, (having enjoyed it so much on my solo visit a week ago) and once again it was on top form. My wife had the firery Paneer Chilli, described as rich in spice and flavour without blowing her head off. For mains a Brinjal Bhaji, Lamb Gosht Kata Masala (first visit) and a House Special this , were all well cooked and extremely tasty. You do need to come up with a better name than House Special though. It deserves a name. Raj our waiter was friendly and attentive without being over so. On both my visits the restaurant has been rather quiet. Time of year perhaps, money tight for everyone? Whatever the reason, the food deserves a bigger audience. If you live in Reading, use it or lose it folks. If your visiting and find yourself in that part of town, give it whirl."

"As a long term customer of the Cinnamon Tree, I can't recommend it enough. It simply ticks all the boxes. I've tried many other Indian restaurants and takeaways over the years, in a misguided hope of finding one that beats Cinnamon Tree but it's a fools' errand, there are none. Food is always incredible and if you want a dish tweaked to your liking, they will always accommodate. Staff are just brilliant, always super friendly with great service and they go out of their way to make kids feel welcome. Ample ree parking around the back of the building so always easy to find a spot. My one tiny criticism is that they do not sell alcohol, you need to take your own. They previously sold alcohol, pre-pandemic but never brought it back and I don't know why. But that's a minor niggle and doesn't really detract from what is otherwise a fantastic dining experience, end to end. Vegetarian options: Nearly all dishes are available as vegetarian options. Kid-friendliness: They really make a fuss of kids and give them chocolates, chat with them, it's lovely to see. Parking: Ample free parking at rear of premises. "my son brought me here to Mother's Day. at 2 o'clock there was enough dinner for a pleasant atmosphere. I liked the flawless white bed linen tablecloth and serviette and a red rose in a vase. we had the buffet. First-Poppadums - fresh and tasty and a tablet of normal relishes. bahjees, chicken wings, naan and salat. the bahjee was good, but the naan was like leather. the main course - chicken cures, lamb dishes and sweet dishes with delicious rice. I enjoyed the combination of aromen. the curries were well cooked, but could have been a little hotter - I am not sure that the big silver servier dishes keep them as hot as when they are cooked first? at the end was the presentation with a single red rose charming."

"When entering the Mod the first thing to notice is the warm reception and welcome. The pub is clean with well spaced tables and is pleasantly furnished. The menu is extensive offering Thai and other more regular meals such as risotto and fish and chips. There was also a shorter two-course lunchtime menu with a good selection. We were a party of four: one having fish and chips and three opting for Thai. The lentil and aubergine curry was delicious. I highly recommend this pub restaurant."

"Just moved into the area and were told to try King Wok, I’m glad we did! We only waited an extra 5 minutes when we went to collect the food, the lady serving us was lovely. The food was piping hot when we got it home and all very delicious, we couldn’t fault it."

"Food is delicious, best pub food, really gemourous portions for the price. Quite a big selection. Will definitely be visiting here again and really recommend it. The fact it was wheelchair accessible , for parking getting into building and disabled toilets adds to the experience. Spacious well decorated very clea and tidy. We had the Ham egg chips and salad. Cooked too perfection, as you can see from the photo, the eggs great for dipping chips In. One of us also had the waffle, which was equally lovely. unfortunately, I didn't get a chance to grab a photo of that as it was eaten with such enthusiasm "

"made the mistake of hearing previous reviews. we were offered poppodums and sauces, all very nice. When the waiter took our order, he hurried so much and went away before we had finished the order! we had to call him back twice!. no idea what the hurry was when they were not busy! I ordered the chicken slate that comes with Nan-Brot, herbal side and rice. there was no spit. just a normal shaslick!? the waiter gave me my Nan-Brot, who told me "garlic Nan". when I guessed I ordered chili nan he replied, “This is chili and garlic.” that was not! total lie and obviously could not be disturbed to change them. after a few minutes I asked where my fellow was and he bought about the mint soaking I had with my poppodums!? I opened the menu to show him that I should have a herbal side with it. then he went away and delivered a kind of bland sweet suppenteller!? very strange evening. my husband was questionable. I will not return. this is all as short as they want to attract recurring customers!?"

"Our party of have just had a meal at the Beefeater at Southcote and it was very disappointing and not of its usually high standard. Firstly our drinks took a very long time to arrive, The Gin and tonic was so watered down that it took attempts to get one that at least had some taste. I ordered a jacket potatoe with my main corse and then about minutes later Zia was informed that they had none and I reluctantly had to settle for chips. The steaks were not the best and was not cooked as requested. I asked for medium but it was nearer to well done. I then ordered Sticky Toffe pudding ice cream sundae only to be told this was being taken off the menu next week and was no longer available. Why wasn’t I toldt t this was not available when given the menus. The coffees arrived without milk and this too took quite awhile to be brought to the table. A very dissapointing experience. I don’t think I will be visiting again any time soon."

"As soon as I walked in I felt welcome. People people. The upstairs was a lovely place to sit and write my postcards after breakfast. This Place used to be an old forge, the wooden beamed roof and bricked walls still there. Cosy. Food: The best soft scrambled eggs on toast I’d had in a long time, and hot. The marmalade tasted like oranges instead of the usual sugar. Loved the crockery. But mostly the service and I will go there as often as I can when I’m in Reading. Thank you to Pete, the owner."

"the house of flavors on kings road is a large venue with good decor and comfortable distance and sitting. the personal is always very friendly and efficient. this place at peak times is very busy and has a beautiful energy and mood. the jewel in the crown is eating. good menu choices, decent portions and tastes amazing. I was here several times over a period of 15 years and was never disappointed. the Keema-Nan is the best I ever had. if they like to eat Indian, they are recommended house of flavours."

"I have visited the Bull a couple of times before on recommendation. However this time we had an awful experience. The staff were slow and inattentive considering that the restaurant was empty. The food was not good, there were serious issues with two mains. The seabream dishes that my friend and I ordered were off and it smelled. It took forever to get the attention of the waiter to tell us that the fish was fresh and there was nothing wrong with it. Upon further complaint, the manager came and he offered alternate dishes to compensate for the off dishes. No desserts menu were offered . The staff completely forgot about us that we had to go to the bar to pay for the bill."
