"Despite the negative reviews online, we were recommended to try out Paddyfields for a meal. We decided to make a reservation and we are very glad we did. The staff were extremely friendly and the gentleman who served us was exceptional. The portions were generous, and the duck dish was included in the price unless you wanted a second helping. There was plenty of food to go around. We thoroughly enjoyed our entire meal and couldn't find fault with any of it. We managed to save room for a banana fritter and ice cream, which I have a weakness for, and it was delicious as well."

"First time having a takeaway from Usta Grill. Overall not bad but points that could be improved on. Ordered on just eat and their page was pretty simple and self explanatory. Food arrived 25 mins early which is obviously a massive bonus.... Unless you're busy...and they catch you by surprise but hay all fun and game ay. Delivery person was extremely polite and nice instead of the usual shoving food in you face and walking off as some other places local to here. Food itself was served in typical takeaway plastic containers and which unfortunately leaked into the bag and made it soggy. The prawns in garlic tasted nice but unfortunately they were just cheap frozen prawns. The calamari was extremely good but presume just frozen rings. I had the chicken gyro with salad and chips....overall very nice taste but because of the containers enged up soggy which spoil the chips and made them into a mush. My partner had the lamb shish wrap which came as well as could be presented for a take away, not soggy and very tasty We was pleased with the taste of the food and would order again but like I said previously things could be improved"

"The so called manager awrve us for our takeaway collection although he then continued to do deliveries so doubt he was the real manager. We paid then realised could have had 25% off being new customers when we questioned he would not r3fumd the difference and was extremely rude saying why would we help you save money...absolutely shocking and very arogant and rude. Food nice bit price and service awful..over charged us by 10 pound as well asnot giving the new customer discount."

"We stopped by on a Thursday, which turned out to be steak night at the restaurant. I ordered a rib eye steak, while my wife opted for the rump steak. We both prefer our steaks cooked to medium-well, and they arrived perfectly cooked and char-grilled. Each steak came with a large mushroom, onion rings, salad, and fries. The sauce, which was included in the price, was a nice touch - I chose stilton, while my wife went for Diane sauce. Both sauces were delicious. The prices were very reasonable. We were impressed with the selection of 6 real ales available and even got to try a couple of samples before making a decision. We had a great time, enjoyed the atmosphere, and plan to visit again in the future."

"What a great pub. We have driven past the Springfield so many times, but had never visited, until now. What a fantastically situated pub. We sat outside in the gardens and it was great, it was quiet, clean and well maintained. The pub itself is tastefully set out and it makes you want to go in the evening. The staff are very friendly and very helpful. It is well priced and the food is fantastic, if you are a fan of a burger, then treat yourself to their signature burger, it looks and tastes superb. We will definitely be going again and I would suggest that everyone else gives it a try. A real hidden gem."

"Me and my friend came to the Prince Rupert on the off chance to get out of the rain. We’re so glad we did! Wow! The team were so friendly and welcoming and the pub itself is quaint, quirky and cosy. We had some drinks, which were lovely and ordered food. We started with the camembert which was so good that we sat in silence the whole time it was on the table. Flavours were to die for. The food was absolutely incredible, we’ve been eating out for 10+ years and this is hands down the best meal out we have had. We both had the steak and ale pie, one with mash one with chips. Every single aspect was perfect! We agreed two mouthfuls in that the pie was the best pie we had ever had. Vegetables were cooked to perfection and presentation was perfect. It was a really heart warming, stomach filling meal and experience and we cannot wait to come back to the Prince Rupert."

"I’ve just realised I’ve been visiting The Beck for over 20 years now for both drinks and meals with friends and family and I’ve never written a review! The Beck for me is home from home and I’ve lost count of how many times I’ve visited. They say a business is only as good as it’s staff, and maybe this is why The Beck has lasted so long with a reputation for a relaxed atmosphere good food and good service. The staff here are friendly, caring and professional, I’ve never been anywhere where I felt so at home as The Beck. Edward, Julie, Theresa, Kieran and not forgetting Trish in the kitchen make the place what it is! In 20 years I’ve never had a bad meal here, the food is excellent, and today did not disappoint. I was treating my parents and wife to a belated Mother’s Day and Dad’s birthday meal out, I had the lamb roast which was sublime and my dad had the blade of beef which in his words was “melt in your mouth” good! My Wife had a chilli and my Mum had the flat bread, which were also very nice and portions are plentiful. My daughter has Dairy and Soya allergies and wanted sausages and mash however the mash had butter in it so they made it with chips instead, she also cleared her plate! If you want to go somewhere with a nice warm friendly atmosphere and excellent food at very reasonable prices then The Beck is definitely worth a visit."

"I have to say that for some years now Tom Browns has been at the top of the list for being one of my favourite restaurants. I have always loved the quality of the food and it's hospitality. Last Saturday, 9th December I was fortunate to hold a dinner party for my daughter's 21st birthday which included her family and close friends. Altogether, there were 14 of us. The staff were absolutely faultless, attentive and engaging. Sadly, the birthday cake had collapsed and although not altogether destroyed, it would not have been nice for my daughter to have seen it presented in it's state. However, head chef came to the rescue and was able to do his magic and my daughter was later presented with her cake in all it's beauty, never knowing what had happened to it previously. Thank you Head Chef Liam. You may not wear a cloak but you were definitely a superhero in our eyes. I also have to include how enjoyable our meals were and how quickly they all came at the same time, leaving no one person having to wait ages for their food. Thank you Tom Browns for a wonderful dining experience."

"We visited Hucks for a family meal as it was my grandsons 2nd birthday. After seeing a mixture of reviews we thought it’s always best to see what a venue is actually like by visiting yourself. We were greeted and seated at our table by our member of the floor staff, Paige, who was courteous and helpful throughout our visit. Our order consisted of the large sharing Nachos, followed by a selection of mains including chilli burgers, pork belly rib and chicken fajitas. These were all excellent and a special mention must be made for the garlic butter fries which are fab and must be tried when you visit! The children’s meal was a good sized portion of good quality chicken nuggets with fries if you’ve ever had the bad quality ones you will know what I mean) a fruit shoot and ice cream bowl , where you can visit the self service ice cream machines and add toppings. The background music along with Back to the Future playing on video screens made the visit a great choice for family groups and the venue was busy even though we chose to dine early evening. The disabled facilities were clean and well equipped I am disabled and all too often this is not the case thank you Hucks! All in all, Hucks is well worth a visit whilst here at Center Parcs Sherwood and we will be back again. A special mention for Paige as she is everything a member of floor staff should be , helpful, courteous and unruffled in busy times with a professional manner and a smile. Can other venues please take note, as an overall observation at Hucks was that all the staff looked genuinely happy whilst working too"

"I have visited for many years and have watched this Tea Shoppe change and evolve. There are lots of parking spaces for your cars or bike, so they are safe. The Owners and Staff are extremely courteous and go over and above to give you...a warm welcome on arrival. The atmosphere is really warm and pleasant inside the Tea Room and sitting outside in summer is equally as nice to relax and enjoy your time there. During winter there is a marquee to cover the garden and patio heaters, if you want to sit outside with your pets. The menu is varied for the season and their specials offered for lunch are a delight. However this is one of the best places around for a fabulous breakfast. The produce is locally sourced and exceptional. A recent addition of the degree coffee is welcomed and with their home made cakes and scones on offer is definitely not to be missed. I also have a local Business and recommend my clients to eat and drink there each week and I always get good and positive feedback. Some of my Clients drive back to the village after their stay with us, just to re-visit the Tea Shoppe and enjoy their exceptional homemade cuisine. I would highly recommend a visit for their consistency and such stunning surroundings to relax in. Dont forget a visit to the new Flower Shop too, the flowers are absolutely stunning ! . Thank you."

Saracens Head

"Just wanted to say a big thanks to all the staff at Saracens Head for making our wedding on 10/10/20 really special despite the obvious limitations imposed by Borris! Our family stayed at the hotel for 2 days and we all found it very welcoming and friendly. The breakfasts were great. The rooms were clean and well appointed. The staff worked really hard to look after us during the wedding day itself, the dinner was excellent. The venue was closed for the day to the public which we weren't expecting and really appreciated. There were only 15 of us and we had the run of the lounges and dining room, all cosy and full of character. Big thanks in particular to Robin for being so enthusiastic and positive and genuinely wanting us to enjoy the day despite some tough decisions for us leading up to it as the social distancing rules tightened. Our family commented on how good the staff were throughout the weekend. We had a lovely welcome from the eccentric owner David. We're grateful for Charlie for helping us coordinate the day itself and for being flexible with us. The Saracens Head is a great venue for an intimate wedding."

"we had booked this restaurant for the breakfast about 34 weeks in advance, as this is what is required in the centers due to the high demand. it was booked for the last day of a very pleasant holiday in the middle parcs, sherwood forest. we arrived about half an hour before our 10:45 reservation and were happy accommodated as it did not appear excessively busy. after about 5 minutes we ordered two serving bananas and speck pancakes, two fresh orange juices and two glasses prosecco. after 1015 minutes came 2 glasses of orange juice, which were lubricated from concentrate and two glasses of Buck’s fizz. the waitress apologised and replaced the Buck’s fizz with what we felt were very small glasses of prosecco. 30 minutes later another waitress approached our table and apologised that we couldn't have our pancakes, as they were now fled from bananas! So we were disappointed, is an understatement. I asked for the bill for what we had, which tasted over 18 for two small glasses of prosecco and what like concentrate orange juice. we will of course not return at any point, because I do not think there should be 45 minutes to realize that there are no bananas in the kitchen, especially as there are only 2 options of pfann cake on the very limited breakfast menu."

"This our first visit, to celebrate our daughter's 40th birthday. The staff were friendly and attentive, the ale was excellent and perfectly served. The food was similarly excellent and very well present at a reasonable price. The chef is undoubtedly very skilled and even spontaneously added some extra decoration to our daughter's dessert in celebration of her birthday. We certainly intend visiting again in the near future and would heartily recommend The World's End."

"After a bad experience a couple of year or so ago I thought I try again so went today Saturday dinner so me and my lad went to bar to order 2 mix grills, 2 carvery to be told at the bar can't have mix grill because don't have the stuff to do a mix grill so ended up having 4 carvery all three meats was to say we'll done would be a understatement then the chef fetch me a large yorkshire pudding out the back because I'd order a large which was not cooked and wet in bottom all the veg was hard all I can say in I will never step foot in that place again and if you want good food try Mcdonald across the road.. "A first visit to this establishment even though we have driven passed it many times and always said we need to give this a try. it was a Saturday, early evening and there was a good mix of clientele which made for a pleasant atmosphere. The staff were very friendly but didn 't seem to know which was our table even though it had been pre booked and how many of us would be there! The Rose Orchard serves Chinese food and traditional ales and spirits, it has a bar area with TV and a good size restaurant/seating area. As well as serving 'eat in ' they were also doing a good trade on the take away element of their business. The food arrived nice and hot and reasonably quickly however by the time it did arrive the plates were nearly cold. Unfortunately they didn 't utilise any form of heating to keep the food nice and hot so sadly by the time we got around to 'topping up ' what was on our plates the food on the dishes was cold! This was a shame because the actual food was very good, nicely seasoned and flavoursome. And plenty of it. The only thing making this a 4* review and not a 5* review was the fact the food was not kept warm. In retrospect we should maybe have asked for a food warmer as we saw one being brought out to a couple that came in and ordered after us. We will certainly revisit. If you decide to visit based on this review please be sure to request a food warmer."

"I was looking forward to dining here as a coeliac but the service I had wasn’t exactly accompanied with a smile. Friendly staff. 2 elements within the lounge which could be improved. 1- polite encouragement for people not to stand in the doorway smoking for 2 reasons A-unpleasant whilst eating. B-uncomfortable to walk past smokers whilst entering or leaving, could put people off visiting. 2 -The lounge where people eat with their young families is not the ideal place for groups of men to swear at the tops of their voices constantly.(why not the bar? The ignorance is apparent when talking and short of a word they just slot in the F word most of the time . Happy to supply recordings and decibel readings if there is any doubt."

"always assumed that this place was a burger bar, but during the visit we were pleasantly surprised. yes, it is an American thema restaurant and it is a bit like in a caffe in the new york, we loved it. the menu has a good one. Cutting food including burger, but also traditional meals and all day breakfasts. average size meal times, small meal times for children, whatever they want. coffee is also free refilling. the diner is located directly near newark with many parking spaces. the restaurant is clean and the staff was very pleasant and always smiling. the grinding times are in order (no point intended), but do not expect cordon Bleù. good disabled facilities and parking also. could not be connected to the wlan....can it be broken? position food staff performance wifi cleanliness disabled access negatives-none to report."
