"While preparing to enjoy a fantastic day out chose to investigate the offerings available at White Cottage Tea Room and was delighted by our findings. The quaint little cottage is snuggled away among neighbouring cottages and providing incredible views towards the water and Inverness. Inside was tidy, clean, bright and far more spacious than I expected from the outside. The staff were extremely friendly, patient, efficient and ready to make sure our needs were met. They were quick to clean up after customers left and toilet facilities were also in a clean and tidy condition, something that even the best resturants can fall short on. While we were a little too late to try breakfast we will definately be back to try it out though for sure! we tried out a few different items from the menu. I had the Tuna Mayo Baked Potato, it came with tuna mayo, salad and lovely beetroot coleslaw that I 'd never tried before but would certainly look to try out again and possibly look for in the shops if I can find it. My cousin had the Avacado Toast which looked stunning, the eggs on top of the salad looked perfectly. My Aunt tried Chicken Goujous that came with chips and chilli sauce and my two little cousins had the sausages, chips and beans from the kid menu; they 're sausages looked so juice and I 'm hoping they 're the sausages used for the breakfast. But what really impressed us all about the meals was the portion sizes; especially the adults. The kids menu meals were probably the perfect size for them with room left for dessert if needed. Both would have wolfed them down if one wasn 't having a 'moment ' but ate more than half. While our portions, I 'm sure I had a whole tin of tuna in my meal and my aunt had so many chicken pieces she had to leave a couple. It was very worth the money and experience. Oh and that dessert counter! We were planning on coming to get some on the way back from our out but we were all a little too exhausted and the kids had stuffed themselves full of candyfloss and popcorn so that will also be added to the list when we return for breakfast. They looked mouthwatering!!! The plum tart, the chocolate cake, the lemon slice so much choice! If you are ever in the area I really recommend visiting! They even do takeout for those days that are a little nicer and maybe you want to do a picnic."

"Place was quiet but felt rushed to order food and drinks in mins of arriving. Drinks took a while to arrive but cocktail was good. Waitress stood at end of resteraunt with hand over face the whole time glaring at everyone. Felt like she wanted us all out ASAP. Calamari rings were seriously overcooked and extremely tough. Looked like deep friend onion rings with some tesco salad and had cheap sweet chili sauce side like you get from tesco. Very poor starter! Before main course I already felt like I wanted out ASAP from the depressive waitresses attitude and the slow service. To boot was with an American and the Scotsmen had to translate the Americans order. Wasn't sure if it was a language barrier or she was just not paying attention to him due to being American. Main arrived 45mins after ordering. Place 4 tables busy when we arrived.3 of which were already served mains and by the time we got ours only 1 additional table arrived 10mins after us and got their mains 10 mins before us. Mains arrived. Steak was average at best, chips were like that from a chippy however, sauce was good. Jambalaya was tiny portion, required a ton of salt and pepper to add flavour. Wasn't terrible but felt like several days old seafood where it did not have that fresh taste from a coastal town. I will say waitress seemed very friendly towards the end finishing the meal where she seemed to perk up. Brought the star rating up by 1 for that alone. Cocktails were good though. Overall for the price it's not worth it. If you don't mind poor service, average food at best but overpriced it's not terrible. I'd go there again only for cocktails."
