"My stint with Indian food is never ending and so is my taste for the food in Punjabi Karahi. It might not be the fancy restaurant that everyone is looking for on a Saturday night but it does serve a few of the best dishes than any high-end restaurants. Run by a bunch of young Indians, they might not be the best people at service, but you can be sure that the dishes reach the right table with the right quantity. The place has an open kitchen with plain interiors and wooden furniture. It specializes in Punjabi food, so if you are someone who's diet conscious, you might want to tell them to go low on ghee (clarified butter) and oil. Our order here was Chicken Karahi, one of their special dishes, Garlic Chicken, Punjabi Naan, and Vegetable Biryani. The chicken was tender and so soft, that it absolutely melted in the mouth. The flavors of the spices hit your senses and leaves you wanting for more. The bread was a little rubbery and could've been allowed to cook a bit more. The Biryani was splendid with the vegetables nearly cooked giving the crunchy feeling while you chew (this might not be what everyone looks for in a Biryani). With so much to eat, I did not have any space for Desserts. So, if you really want a sumptuous Punjabi meal without burning your pockets, you must visit this place. They also have the take-away option, so if you are inviting a few friends over for some good Indian food, then this is the right place to go get some. "My family had booked the conservatory area for my hen party. On the day, the owner phoned to check with us in the morning if the booking was fine it was. Then about before we are due to arrive, and my family have...arrived to decorate the room he tells us that we can no longer have it because it has already been booked. Even though we booked it weeks earlier and spoken about it on multiple occasions to check the details. To add insult to injury, the manager also tells us that we changed the date earlier in the week when no one did. Plus management called in the morning to confirm the booking. Then they refused to move the other people out saying it was a wedding occasion but when we arrived, it was clearly a birthday. Furthermore we were then placed in the main area, but my family had spent loads of effort and money on decorations which we simply could not put up. Had we known how shoddy this would be, we could have done it anywhere else. I had about guests some of whom had travelled hours and from many different areas in the country to be there, only to receive this awful experience. The management told us that no one else would be allowed in the main area to accommodate us, again you have guessed it. Yet another lie. About later the tables were full of people and they had clearly not done as promised. The service was also slow, and terrible. The owners of this establishment are awful people. If you have double booked, admit to it and offer a larger discount. Instead they just ruined what was supposed to be an amazing night full of memories through anger and inconvenience. We couldn’t do any of the games or the preparation we had planned. Worst experience with memories of India ever. Do not recommend this place ever."

"Myself (23) and my colleague (25) ate here after a long day at work. We are Hospitality Managers. What a bad decision. Firstly we were greeted in a basic manner, as apposed to the respectable welcoming manner any older guests were greeted with. The manager 'Tony ' sat us down and I asked him for a children 's menu '. When ready to place our order I asked for 2 meals off the children 's menu. I was told by the manager that it was only for children. I went on to explain that I have a very small appetite and don 't like anything fancy as all the meals on the Italian menu I knew I wouldn 't like. I also explained how 2 children 's meals totalled £12 and most adult meals were around £7-9 so I would be spending more money. He told me again, no. I then asked for a few more minutes to re look over the menu. When returning I ordered the spaghetti bolognese wth the manager, and asked if it was possible to have a side order of bread and butter. He said 'you 've already had bread ' (referring to the 3 bread rolls we received on sitting). I explained I meant sliced bread, and that I would pay for it ofcourse. He then gave me a weird look and tutted, but said yes. I was brought up in a family home where my dad used to cook meals like spaghetti bolognese all the time, we are not posh people, and like most English people make a sandwich out of everything. When my meal arrived I put some 'spag bol ' on my bread and began to eat. The chef (who I 'm assuming was head chef as just stood around doing nothing but touching his face while the other chef ran around preparing all the meals) began to stare at me whilst I was eating. Feeling very uncomfortable I tried to not pay attention and enjoy my meal. I then looked up again and he was still staring and smiling. He then called over the manager and the bar man and started to speak to them. One by one they all stared at me. After they left, the chef began to laugh whilst still staring at me and walked away. I felt extremely uncomfortable and stopped eating my meal. Whilst sat waiting to be cleared another couple were sat next to us. They received friendly conversation and 6 bread rolls (same size party). The waiting staff and manager were extremely attentive to these guests who I got the impression were regulars. After waiting and waiting we decided to get up for the bill. We were spoke to very briefly and abruptly. The manager made it quite clear he did not like us. I have never in my life been refused a meal due to my age, and I find this disgusting! And I 'm not sure that the way we 're were treated was due to us being 'young ' or for the fact I had bread and butter with my meal (like a real midlander) but it was not acceptable and I would never in my treat any customer in any of my restaurants like that. I believe we 'go the extra mile ' for our guests, not judge someone on their age, sex, looks, race etc. I have had few bad restaurant experiences, and none of them have ever upset me enough to write to the head office or TripAdvisor. But in the case, I felt I needed to express my disappointment."

"Of the 3 restaurants hosted by the LHR T4 Hilton, this one is the best of the bunch. Well executed, refined Chinese cuisine definitely not your typical fried rice/lo mein oil and soy sauce laden fare. And thank goodness! There's plenty of that sort around, so why settle for it on your last night in the UK before heading overseas? Zen's menu is large and mouth watering, and great to share family style if you're among family, friends, or colleagues. But I've dined here many times alone and learned that the best way to enjoy Zen is to partake of its extensive appetizers and have a dim sum or tapas like meal. Trust me go with a selection of their terrific apps over entrees. This visit I had: salt pepper squid (lightly battered, tender, with that great zing of salt and pepperiness, plus a delicious burn from the hot peppers ; fried slivers of lamb with do it yourself lettuce leaf wraps (add mint leaf and hoisin which tasted like a crisp non fatty roast duck; a small assortment of dim sum (shu mai and har gow ; pan fried pork/vegetable dumplings (nicely browned and juicy inside ; and the best of all, a whole fried soft shell crab, with a friable shattering light batter on the outside, juicy and soft on the inside, full of fresh crab flavor. (I was unaccountably pleased to confirm with the maitre d' that it was indeed blue crab, imported from Maryland in the good ole US of A! . On a sad note, my favorite appetizer, the steamed diver scallops was discontinued even though it's still listed on the menu. However, the crab made up for this loss big time. Overall, superbly executed food and a refined dining experience. Service was prompt and polite, although it can be a little on the reserved side."
