"A restaurant that we’ve enjoyed for over 20 years with family and friends but after tonight will never return. We booked a table for 7 people including 2 well behaved 8 year old children who are no trouble at all. The drinks waiter was lovely, charming and great with children, However the manager who took our order was really rude, dismissive and the most arrogant business owner we’ve ever had the misfortune to encounter. Most of the other staff seemed wary of this guy and when an Italian family including 2 babies in buggies turned up for their reserved table, he shouted across the completely empty restaurant that their reservation was now cancelled as they had buggies with them and shooed them out of the restaurant with no explanation. The poor family seemed completely confused by his rude and embarrassing manor and politely argued that they had made a reservation and the restaurant was empty. We have been there multiple times before and despite the food being tasty the service, mainly from this guy in particular arrogant and feels as though he has 0 time for paying customers. After such a shockingly awful service from him I asked to speak to the manager quietly as I don’t like confrontation. Sadly the manager was this guy, who had no charm nor any manners and smirked whilst I spoke to him about our experience. He removed my octopus order from our bill as by this time all 2 pieces of it had completely stuck in my throat having to endure his disgusting arrogance towards us and other customers. It wasn’t about the money, it was just an horrific experience and he didn’t think he’d done anything wrong . He’s definitely in the wrong business as doesn’t like people. Such a sad day as we’ve loved this place for many years and taken friends and family here for special dinners but this will be our last. He will single handedly shut this restaurant for good with his inability to be polite and respectful. After this we left and went for a fabulous dinner at S’Algaret in Fornells square with really tasty food just a few restaurants down from El Pescador. The older couple and the other waiters looked completely embarrassed by his poor behaviour. Save your money and go elsewhere! S’Algaret was superb!"

"Sunday 1 September. Thought we would treat ourselves, but Es Pla burnt down a few years ago (last time we were there King Juan Carlos was there, and he paid for everyone in the restaurant, amazing! first time we went as students in 1976, we had to run out before ordering, realising we couldn 't afford it! , couldn 't get into Es Cranc. Walked along the front and settled on Sancora, and it was very good. Coped well with a party of 8 for lunch, with some wanting simple small plates and others wanting the works . Portions were very generous, salads enormous, John Dory for 2 was 40 Euros (typical main course at Rick steins which we love is c£40 and came with veg, we made the mistake of ordering chips, huge portion turned up, salmon excellent (not very Menorcan but excellent , the mixed fish for 12 Euros saw 5 fish arrive all cooked well, baby squid excellent. Good rapport with the staff, the guy getting the customers in was very chatty as expected, and the rather severe looking waiter was actually lovely when you chatted with him. The John Dory for two was shown to us as was all the fresh fish we were considering (didn 't like the live lobsters being paraded though . Once cooked the fish was expertly filleted and served. Bread, olives, water came complimentary, drinks reasonable. No room for puds We ate at c2pm and shortly after the restaurant was full, including many Spanish taking their late lunch. We were not moved on once we had finished."

"Last night four of us went to El Castillo for a meal and I’m so glad we did. It was very quiet so we had a choice of table and chose outside. As we settled we were offered drinks which came promptly. The menu was displayed on 2 blackboards and put at the end of the table. The menu has been reduced but there was something for everyone thanks to Darren the chef. We chose calamares with patatas bravas to share as a starter and I must say the calamares were delicious! Crispy on the outside but still soft inside and the dipping sauce was awesome. Lime and ginger ! For the main course two of us ordered pork cheeks which came with veg and Parmesan mash, one had Red Thai curry homemade and also a scampi and chips. The pork cheeks were served on the bone with steamed cabbage portion and carrot, mash and a rich sauce. I struggled to finish it! The same went for the curry and scampi. Worth mentioning home made fat chips crispy on the outside, soft and fluffy inside. Perfect. We had no room for a dessert which was disappointing but never mind hopefully we can squeeze in another visit soon. Well done to Lucy and her team for trying to start up running a bar/restaurant in these very difficult times. Keep on going as you are and hopefully you will succeed. I certainly recommend this place, it’s open lunchtime for snacks but possibly ring before going to make sure they’re open. Addaia was so very very quiet last night as is the whole island. Many thanks once again."
