"We have made a point of coming here ever since we discovered it during lockdown. In fact, it was the highlight of our trips to Deal and we always made sure we’d done the shops and got in here before they closed at 3pm. Unfortunately, the last few times it seems they’ve changed the way they do things. Their cheese toastie with slaw used to be sublime but the slaw has gone from being a bit more of a medley of veg to just shredded cabbage so not really ‘slaw’ at all. On our last two visits, the toastie has had barely any cheese in it to the point where i have a job finding any at all. For the price of it, you’d expect cheese to be dripping out the sides, or at least present. Oat milk flat white could be hotter (I know you can’t heat milk alternatives up to the point of dairy milk but it could be better than luke warm). I’m so gutted; we’ll have to find somewhere else to have our coffee and toasties but I hope they see this and up their cheese game so we can come back! Pleeeease?!"

"the plow is all they could want in a pub! the staff are so friendly and take care of the fact that they have a good time, while in the spatial areas they have a large selection of drinks both alcoholic and non-alcoholic. the pub has a great atmosphere and they know they can always laugh and have a great time. if they feel for somewhere what tasty, home cooked seasonal cuisine with a fine eating, this is the place for them. the menu is never the same and the cook always source great quality local products the cook is always courteous and will always express the boot! I love the plow and would recommend to anyone to try it and I can assure them that they will not be disappointed!"

"The staff at this restaurant are truly wonderful, and the food is beautifully presented. It’s evident that the team genuinely cares about the service they provide, and they go above and beyond to ensure a great experience. We’ve returned several times, and the service and food have consistently remained excellent. I would definitely recommend this place and will be making it my go-to for enjoyable breakfasts. The only downside is that it is closed on Mondays. Service: Dine in."

"I had just dinner here and was really impressed. it's nice to have something else here in dover and I really hope this place surrounds. had to start the cod frit and the sauce was super delicious! jerk chicken wrap for net, all meat is cooked to a middle heat, so I got a little top from home made chili sauce, which really had a blow whisper was a lemon drizzle with around and rosin egg that had some nice big chew pieces. the pineapple cooler was also delicious. the food was great and quickly came out. the service was friendly and friendly. clean clean space comfortable seating. the one that really impressed me was the eco-friendship of the place. the tassen are compostable, the plates and bowls were all kartons and the cutlery was wood (except spoon). so they also do their little bit for the environment! well worth the visit, some can think on the expensive side, but open to good quality crafted food. I'm happy to pay! thanks for a nice dinner!"

"My family and I have visited the Bandstand bakery/cafe many times over the last five years. We are always greeted with a massive friendly smile from all members of staff from this quaint family business. You can buy items to take away as per most bakeries freshly made bread, pastries,cakes etc) and eat in as per a cafe. The food on offer is always superb guaranteed the greatest chips served that you've ever tried) And really reasonably priced I paid today less than £5 for a generous ham and cheese omelette and chips with side salad) , offered in a friendly small traditional historic environment with amazing views of Walmer green and the sea. My young family and I absolutely love eating here, the Bandstand's quality, cleanliness open view kitchen) friendliness and value never fluctuates....it's always wonderful and always has been Well done to all that work there. We will be back"

"We stayed overnight at the Ramada, and it wasn't the best night to search for a restaurant, so we inquired about dining at the Olive Tree, which is located in the hotel. What a lovely place to eat! We were greeted warmly, and the timing between the courses was just right. The food was beautifully presented and served hot. Kudos to the entire staff for creating such a wonderful experience!"

"Starter was bland and tasteless.Absolutely no flavour for smoked salmon patè at all. Toast was cremated. I 'm puzzled why the kitchen or the waitress presenting the food felt it was acceptable to serve it. Had to ask for an edible replacement when a member of staff passed by.. eventually.. as no-one asked if things were ok. It 's not like they were busy as in the hour and a half we were there no other guests were present. Main was ok. Asked for a medium glass of wine they sent and charged a large glass. When we asked for the bill we had been charged for an adult meal for what we thought would be a child 's meal. When we queried the bill we were told we should have asked for a children 's roast, although that was actually offered on the menu and the fact that one guest was an 8 year old I didn 't realise it was necessary to state the obvious, which the lady pointed out.. that apparently we should have specified. We were made to feel uncomfortable and awkward and were obviously the topic of conversation with the staff that could be overheard from the kitchen. It was handled very badly. As a result they deducted a glass of wine and waived the optional service charge which for poor service we had already declined to pay. Too little too late I 'm afraid. If the issues had been dealt with in a polite or amenable manner in the first place we would have maybe reconsidered but the attitude was far from professional and infact unnecessary. Decor was nice but that was about it! Definitely will not be returning or recommending! Prefer the smugglers personally which is practically next door!"

"This place used to be great and we were regulars here. We visited last weekend and were shocked by how downhill the service has gone. The manager/owner is extremely rude and borderline aggressive to customers. We booked for breakfast and after waiting a while to be seated were then left with menus for around 15 20 minutes with not a look from a member of staff. When I asked the grey haired man the manager/owner, if we could order a coffee, I was told ‘in a minute’ and to ‘wait my turn’ and that the staff were extremely busy even though there were not many tables and we only wanted to order drinks. The same man then approached the table and aggressively said ‘are you in a rush?’ and that it was cooked fresh so we would have to ‘wait our turn’ like we were school kids he was giving a telling off! He then walked off and did not take our drinks order. At this point It was approaching half an hour and as we still hadn't been able to order a coffee we decided to leave and went for breakfast at Sandwich Lakes up the road instead. There we were greeted with friendly faces and coffees were not too much trouble. It’s really disappointing to see Juliets go so downhill Which is mostly attributed to the manager/owner who thinks that because they are busy he can be rude to customers. What was once a local favourite, we won’t be visiting again"

"I visited this restaurant for the first time today because I was too lazy to cook a Sunday dinner. I ordered half a chicken, roast potatoes, cauliflower cheese, Yorkshire pudding, and a portion of gravy for my wife and me. The portion size was perfect, the chicken and cauliflower cheese were excellent, the Yorkshire pudding was okay, and the roast potatoes were undercooked for my liking. However, I must admit that I enjoy very well-done roast potatoes, so it's just a matter of personal taste. The total cost for the food was not bad at all. I tried to order online, but found the ordering system to be difficult. Overall, it was a pretty good experience and I'm sure we will return for more delicious meals."

"My wife and I dined here as we were staying in the Lodge. Plus points: very pleasant service from Alison, the manager/waitress for the night; nice atmosphere in dining room with, a first for me, the opportunity to ask Alexa for music of my choice! However we did have some issues. My starter was nice (terrine of guinea fowl but the disappointed. There was a very generous piece of melt in the mouth braised ox cheek, but it was underseasoned and the salt and pepper pots took a hammering. The accompanying mash was OK but why only one small carrot and one pickled green leaf as accompanying vegetables? Come on, be a bit more generous! Desserts were OK but, like the rest of the meal, did not come up to 2 rosette standard. Our Californian Zinfandel wine was really good. The final issue came with the bill, paid on leaving the next morning, but one I half expected. We were charged for 1 bottle of prosecco with a deduction of £6.50. When I queried this I was told that they only do Prosecco by the bottle..... The previous evening, when my wife asked for a prosecco, we had assumed that it would come by the glass. I thought it odd when Alison topped up my wife’s glass just before we went in to eat but assumed this was complimentary, and it was odder to find the bottle in a cooler on the table. (No more was drunk so probably at least half a bottle remained. It would have been correct to tell us we had to have a bottle at the point of ordering then my wife would have had something else. So all in all we were a bit disappointed."

"Have visited twice since new owners took over, but have experienced no problems as others seem to have. Staff do not seem as friendly as the previous staff, but then again we had seen the front of house staff grow up there. Food? Well my son does not rate the chicken curry which he previously loved. However all of the other dishes we have had since takeover have been good. Sesame Prawn Toast is second only to The Moonflower's in my opinion. Lemon Chicken was very good, Roast Pork Chinese Style is acceptable, fried rice dishes have been very good but the standout dish, not on the menu but a notice on the counter is Salt and Pepper Squid, delicious."

"We recently visited the Five Bells for the first time and it seems we have stumbled upon another quality pub in Kent. Despite making a last-minute booking, they were able to accommodate us without any issue. Due to us bringing our dog along, we were seated in the bar area, which was bustling with activity. However, the staff were attentive and the service was excellent. Three of us opted for the Sunday Roast, which received unanimous approval. While the Yorkshire Puddings were a bit disappointing, the cauliflower cheese was delicious and the roast beef was very tasty. The meal was accompanied by a generous serving of vegetables. It was evident that the team is doing something right as the bar was filled with regular patrons. Additionally, the pricing at the Five Bells was very reasonable. Whether you are a local or just visiting the area, we highly recommend this establishment."

"Great view overlooking the water, adjacent to the famous white cliffs of Dover. Great place to grab a bite while looking out over the water, then take a stroll along the water and see the cliffs. Service was fast and friendly. Restaurant was clean. It 's divided inside, sort of like an old house. They have outside seating for good weather days. Their coastguard burger was good; nothing special, just a good burger. As for their fish and chips, the fish was really good; light flakey with minimal grease. Chips were average thick cut fries; nothing special there. Mushy peas, which they called crushed peas , are about what they sound like smooshed English peas, which is what they tasted like. Again, nothing special. The purple coleslaw was good; nice flavor. They use purple cabbage, which gives it the unique color, but seems fairly common in England."

Decided to get a bacon egg bagette , bacon had been cooked hours earlier and warmed up abit before putting in the bread also eggs soaked in grease , can still taste it now 5 hours later . Found woman behind counter rude and very opinionated . will definitely not be returning ."

"Went here yesterday ...just wanted a sandwich to take away. Wasn't even busy and after I paid for our 2 tuna baguettes £7.20 I might add) I then got told it's a half an hour wait . 1. I should have been told that before I had paid 2. What the hell it's a baguette and tuna it's not exactly hard. If you are expecting any kind of busy day things should be prepped. I wouldn't have minded but there was 6 people ahead of me and they all only had panini's not exactly 5* food coming out to warrant the wait. At least 4 people working so think you seriously need to look at your speed of service and your preparation. Was nice what we had but for the money and wait would not have food from there again unless I have loads of time"

"J'ai emmené ma mère au restaurant Two Sisters pour son anniversaire dimanche dernier. Nous avons été immédiatement accueillis et informés des options de brunch (c.-à-d. Buffet par rapport aux offres spéciales de brunch et autres ajustements, tels que le bacon de dinde au lieu du porc). Je pense que c'est un endroit idéal pour un brunch décontracté et certainement pour un rendez-vous mère-fille. Nous avons adoré la nourriture et le service. Nous avons roulé vers un Groupon et nous reviendrons certainement sans Groupon. Ça vaut le coup."

"Tried the Oak as recommended by a friend. Sunday lunch menu, limited but enough to please most people. Food was presented well and was of a good standard. Plenty of vegetables to go with the main course. Was a little quiet and etmisphere a little lacking, but hopefully the trade will pick up and a buzz will be in the air.. overall I would say it was a good experience"
