"This review is for the restaurant/food only as we didn’t stay at the hotel. The staff were extremely lovely and accommodating. The atmosphere of the restaurant was wonderful. A cozy and inviting space, that is tastefully decorated. The food was unfortunately hit and miss. I had a Gwydyr 8oz burger which was nice but could have offered more for the price. It was a very simple patty in a bun with very little sauce or garnish. The meat tasted good but was slightly too salty so I had to compensate by adding various sauces to it. I am from London, and £19.50 for a burger is expensive even by London standards. So I had higher hopes for my burger than just a bread with a patty and some lettuce and an over salted thick piece of bacon. My partner ordered a 16oz version of my steak (photo) and that was also overcooked on the outside and pink on the inside. With very few garnishes, and a thick layer of very salty bacon. The coleslaw on the side was a teaspoon size in a tiny ramekin! The chips however were quite nice. A friend of mine had the Hake wrapped in Parma ham and unfortunately this one was inedible. The fish tasted old and overly fishy like it was either off or borderline off with a metallic aftertaste. I didn’t dare have more than a bite and I had to discreetly spit out even that into a tissue. My friend is way too polite, so she tried to eat it all with the help of lemon juice, tartar sauce and an extra order of gravy. We thought it would be a whole piece of fish in Parma ham, but it was a sort of mashed up flakey version of hake, stuffed together in the Parma ham, with it acting like a pillow case to hold the contents together. I love seafood , I eat fish and shellfish all the time, and there are few things in the world I don’t eat, but that Hake was truly awful. I hate to say this because the staff were very friendly and some of the people were happy with their food. The people who ordered battered cod and chips said their food was ok. We ordered 4 portions of blue cheese sauce that they forgot to put through with the order, so the sauce arrived late, when everyone had almost finished eating. Of course accidents like this happen so not really bothered about that, we asked for a takeaway container to not waste the sauces and took it home with us. The overall 3 star is because of the friendly staff and the atmosphere of the place. Had I had to rate solely on food quality, and taking the prices into account it would have been a 1* review."

"This was a great little find just off the main prom. Unfortunately there was nothing special about my cappuccino very milky not particularly textured maybe if I'd have got an extra shot the flavour would have stood up for itself. Now for the brownie!! 5/5 one of the best brownies I have ever tasted across the world Fudgey, gooey chocolatey not a single part was dry! Amazing! There were lots of people grabbing food for lunch it looked a popular spot. I will return for another time for the brownie it was that good and id lik to give the coffee another go I would recommend this place may 2023 edit review I have now been here twice in the last week since my first visit about 5 weeks ago. Absolutely hands down my statement still stands these are THE best brownies you will find! I do believe It is a very competitive market for sweet treats out there with the many cake bake shops. I tried a blondie the other day which didn't match the brownie I wouldn't recommend those. The girls were lovely on each vist and I came today with my dog and she made a fuss of him and gave him a biscuit. Again, a very well stocked cabinet of savoury foods but I've yet to try these. I can't comment. I hope you find my updated review helpful along with photo (sorry, we already ate 2 out of the box!! I look forward to popping in again in a few weeks as summer approaches and we head into Wales for days out! Keep up the good Work Vintage kitchen"

"Some people would take our experience and make it negative.Things went wrong for sure but that’s how you measure a company in my book… you can’t praise or criticise them for doing what’s expected. So we had an issue with a voucher that wouldn’t go through the till and ended up paying full price. There were also items missing from my wife’s roast dinner. So first off the voucher… the poor lady on the till had been away for a few minutes and came back to a queue of people. Midway through trying to serve me another customer started pestering her for cutlery. She couldn’t get the voucher to go through and appeared flustered so I agreed to pay full price even though I was disappointed.I mentioned it to a young lady who was passing our table a few moments later who couldn’t have been more lovely. I believe her name was Jenny or Jennifer. She agreed that she would resolve the discount when we ordered our desserts.Roast dinner my wife had was excellent. Paid extra but there were a couple of items missing so we mentioned it to the young lady and she then agreed to give us free desserts. At the same time the lady who had served us at the till came over to apologise for the discount and she was very sincere in her apology. All in all the food was good and a few issues were resolved professionally and speedily.I have to say as well… if you run this restaurant then considering the young lady who helped us had been in since 6am and was running rings round the other serving staff she deserves a medal!! She was staying late due to staff shortages I believe but she was charging round the restaurant and putting others to shame. Give her a bonus… better still a pay rise because people like her will keep people like us coming back!Thank you!"
