"a vegetarian restaurant that has existed in brighton for at least twenty years. I remember going 15 years ago when we last visited the city and its amazing pavillon. on Sunday we returned to the hellon and after the announcement of the lanes we discovered the restaurant again changed a lot and decided to give it to lunch. on the front of the restaurant are three dining rooms, another one on the back next to the kitchen and another outside in a small courtyard. the walls are in red tones, the floor and the tables are bright kiefer and the seats are curved ply modern we do not agree whether they were comfortable. slightly dimmed halogen down lights gave the rooms a warm cozy feeling. too midday was the place flowering, but the service was excellent, very friendly and attentive. two glasses of the prosecco later we decided to have a common tasting plate and the brot of the day with a few guides. the latter was a delicious Briochey type of brot with a hauch of orange peel perhaps the three dips were a Chive cream cheese, a mildly hot red pfeffer sauce and the oil-balsam standard. this was an excellent nibbel before the main, the Sharing plate was complex, beautiful, delicious, surprising and a complete antidote to any suggestion that vegetarian food is boring. I was created by the diversity of the aromes and, equally important, by the variety of textures that arise. essentially there are about seven different small portions that double, which makes it perfect for two. the plate included: polenta chips haloumi in a teig fondue with pickled vegetables lentil risotto with washabi roasted tomato hoisin braided tofu with sesame seeds a carrot salad with fine nudels. the spice was perfect for every taste I often find many vegetarian caffes and restaurants from salt due to health and as a result offer drastically boring aromas of otherwise well-made dressed. Anyway, we were more than impressed, so before we booked a table to dinner, that we were obviously not the only ones to do that this evening. on Sunday evening was the place full of groups of 4 6 and what looked like to be a medium ageed demographic. we shared two main dishes and two sides: mains an aubergine and tahini layer stack filled with sesame seeds and served with carrot/nudelsalate with a seaweed rice cracker. delicious. an salate with the hot, smokey pfeffer sauce as basic, on which a kartoffel rosti, then artichoke, then beet root, yogurt and finally rocket was layered. a good combination of fried/fresh, dry/humid, varied texture and color contrast excellent. what seemed to be a mixture of comminuted garden excavated with muddy sniffs disguised by an inherited ranking. perfect with the raw cleaned spinach with the odd crunch that could come from roasted lenses, for dessert we ordered two plates: I ordered kulfi a few Indian street food. essentially something like a basic of swollen weizen, granatapfel, yogurt, petals and pistachios (all with one? before them.) in addition, a caramel and black sesame cone was filled with an egg that was not identified but delicious. the cone I thought was too thick, but otherwise it was brilliant. my partner ordered something that she described as a chocolate ball of deliciousness that had a gooey caramel oozing from him I was too full of then to have more than one taste and agree with her description. acoustic was in order, but there is an area where dirty plates are returned and this has occasionally emptied like a bottle recycling truck. at one point I got such a fear that I almost lost a fork of something delicious. child-friendly yes would I take my grandmother? if she lived yes. first or last date yes I would go back, I wouldn't do that! I would definitely drive into the city suggestion: the tasting plate and a prosecco that I promise they won't be disappointed. this restaurant is a jewel and certainly one of the best vegetarians I had made a superb, clever and delicious menu well."

"What an amazing experience. It’s like food theatre! We first came to 64 degrees shortly after it opened in 2013-14 and I always remember it being an exceptional experience, with the best quality food. I have always wanted to come back and I cannot believe that we have left it so long. I came here today with my partner for a surprise treat. And what a treat it was. We decided to go for the set menu/sharing plates at £45pp (plus drinks! . This was amazing value with outstanding dishes, constantly being served up. The food was delicious and of the highest quality but it really was down to the owner, Michael Bremner and all the other staff, including commis chef Carnac and restaurant manager Chris who made the whole experience so unforgettable with their attention to detail. From making one off cocktails to match what we wanted to delivering the best dishes but also explaining all about how they put it together. So for me, being a real foodie, it was fantastic and inspiring. If you want to have a great meal out but also feel like you’re at the theatre, this is definitely the place to visit. We decided to sit at the kitchen bar area where you can watch the chefs and talk to them plus other diners which was a great experience but you could have a table and be more intimate discrete, if preferred. When i asked for a cheeky selfie with chef/owner (and Great British Menu winner , Michael Bremner, he said for us to come into the kitchen area for a group photo. What an amazing experience and a great guy! I am purely speechless and have no other words. We will not be leaving it so long next time FOR SURE!!! It really is the best restaurant in Brighton. "Absolutely awful lunch experience. Filthy tables and dirty toilets with broken seat on arrival which was an immediate red flag. The cafe was very quiet with only one other table for 2 inside and a few tables outside yet service was slow. Lots of staff chatting and hanging around in the bar area not doing anything. I ordered poached eggs, avo on toast GF. When it did finally arrive there was no toast it was just two slices of limp bread soaked in avocado, both poached eggs were hard all the way through. Decided not to eat it as it was so unappealing. After the extended wait didn’t have time to have it remade. Staff commented ‘that looks awful’ so even they agreed!! My partner ordered a chicken avocado sandwich and fries. On arrival after the exceptionally long wait he requested salt, pepper and mayonnaise. No one ever came back with this or to do a food check back which is standard practice in any establishment. The sandwich was dry, not seasoned with soggy chips. He didn’t even finish the portion as it was so underwhelming and I went hungry. In addition to this I ordered a fresh mint tea which came in the dirtiest tea pot I’ve ever seen containing 3 mint leaves! I wasn’t expecting moroccos finest but at least a half decent attempt at fresh tea. The waiting staff were nonchalant and really not interested. When trying to leave we approached the bar and explained the disappointment. They still charged my partner £20 for his terrible food and the dirty drinks. The staff just looked blankly like we were making a fuss! Such a shame as it’s not that hard to make decent tea or poach some eggs and make some toast. Hospitality skills need some serious attention and a deep clean wouldn’t go a miss. Waste of a good spot in the lanes"

"The experience started off fantastically. Charlie, our table attendant arrived promptly; was super friendly and took our drinks and main course orders quickly. (Giving requested guidance, on request . The four of us were really impressed with our restaurant find (including one very happy vegan . Yay, Wagamamas what a great place. THEN it went downhill faster than a n alpine landslide. We were left sitting at our table with finished main course plates (to be clear, some had efficiently been cleared quickly but not those who had finished after. This was the end of the honeymoon stage. We sat, and we sat and we sat. The restaurant emptied out from buzzing and full to sparse (we are talking 8.30 9.00 pm Bank Holiday Weekend. . Everything we needed required a call out to a (not busy waiter such as water, extra glass of wine; dessert menu. This was the worst bit... on an adjacent table, while we were waiting (forever for someone (maybe the enthusiastic original Charlie? to come and ask us what dessert we wanted sat some members of staff laughing happy (pleased for you eating a meal. Picture the scene. Customers sitting waiting for order for food; staff eating at next table . Most of us humans are kind and know that staff need food too but this timing was unbelievable.... it was like us, on the adjacent table, sitting there, were invisible. So now we have an almost empty restaurant; quite a lot of staff clearing up condiments or eating and us, still sitting there. What a real disappointment. Wagamamas provides delicious food; (I really enjoyed the vegan curry.. thanks chefs you saved the day but the one in Brighton needs some proper management to oversee the service. Really, this is some of the worst, disrespectful service I have received in a very long time. It started so promisingly and ended so disappointingly. PS, I asked a member of staff what went wrong and he told me that because it had gone suddenly quiet, they sent members of staff home so ended up understaffed. Wagamama no wonder you were quiet. Chefs your food is great; Managers get the staff to give the service the food providers deserve. What as waste and what a perfect example of terrible management."
