"The service was terrible, with rude staff who slammed our drinks on the table. They couldn't even explain the menu properly. The meat was overcooked, the vegetables were undercooked, and there was no actual fish in the so-called 'chef's recommendation'. I will not be returning to this restaurant."

"We recently moved to the area and saw the great reviews on travel advisers, so we booked a table as a special opportunity to celebrate the women's birthdays that both appeared. Unfortunately we were so disappointed. We booked a table for 4 people at 8 a.m. and arrived 10 minutes early. We said the table was not ready and was asked to drink a drink at the bar while the table was prepared. After 15 minutes of waiting, we asked with the manager if the table was ready, and he said a few more minutes. After another 10 minutes we asked the manager again and he said he can't force people to leave the table if they weren't ready. In fact, he was rather rude and abrupt and did not apologize. At 08:25 we suggested that we had enough to wait a round and wanted to go and suddenly our table was ready. Once we were asked if we wanted more drinks and then our order was taken. No offer was made for a round of drinks on the house to be waited. Our starters arrived within 20 minutes and immediately followed by our main courses. Three of the party ordered steaks. The steak was blande and the peppercorn sauce was without peppercorns. During one of the table staff the plates she asked if everything was fine with meals, we mentioned the tasteless steaks and sauce and we were rudely said we had mentioned something at the beginning. The young lady who presented us with the bill was very pleasant and polite the manager should take a leaf out of her book. Unfortunately, we will never return to this facility again."

"Pleasant but don’t think I would go again, Food was nice, Nann bread was nice however there is no way that portion size is adequate, 3 small quarters of nann bread is not enough. Atmosphere was social, one quiet loud group that we were sat by which was annoying but apart from that atmosphere was good, decor is nice, staff friendly. Really really wasn’t keen on the fact you have to go to a bar to order your drinks and pay, then navigate between tables of people eating to get to another till by the kitchen to order your food. This is a chaotic system and I wasn’t impressed by it, for this reason I won’t return. Seemed more hassle than it’s worth."

"1580 started their new menu on 19. juni and we tried:•vegan samosa chat•chaat bomb•bombay chili chicken•bhutwa lamm darm, leber, niere, heart stomach•khasi ko jhol mutton•murgh makhani butter chicken•achari baigan aubergine curry•double tadkalimal•gulab they really tasted “pure” as we would like to describe it; not spoiled by too much fat or heavy hand season. we were especially fond of the controversial plate on the menu: bhutwa. it was so tasty and the cooking process meant that it doesn't look like inners or have the texture that they could expect. we would order this again and encourage them to try this. we could not get enough of all dressed really, but the vegan samosa chat and khasi ko jhol where really enjoy our pleasure. we love to see mutton, more of a occurs on menus in the last time there is a wonderful ambiente in the restaurant, the personal is really helpful, and they have a well-stocked bar with a series of original cocktails. you should visit 1580. we would recommend getting the train if this is an option (chester rd,) so they can offer the benefits of the 2 for £10 cocktails"

"Visited rushie on a Saturday evening with a friend that I've not seen for ages we arrived around 8pm we chose this place because of the superb reviews We were both disappointed by the experience the service wasn't the best and the food average I...had lamb hotpot seen one of the photographs on there website it looks fantastic in reality very bland not enough sauce...and a little light on the lamb pieces...pretty sure we wont be visiting again"

"Was at Holiday Inn Expres Snow Hill, who was only supper fish and chips!! This jewel found on Google Maps 6min. It was busy also on a Weds night (good sign!, but was quickly shown to a table. Some great drinks on tap had a pint of Beavertown Naked Oil while the food was prepared. Food was excellent (garlic nan and chicken jalfrezi good portion, full taste and proper amount of kick. Service was friendly and pub had nice atmosphere. Very recommended."

"Jojolapa is the first Nepalese restaurant in Birmingham, located on Newhall Street. In a city well known for the cuisine of Nepal’s much more famous South Asian neighbour, the restaurant has held its own with discerning diners, so it was high time we tried it ourselves. Atmosphere There’s a buzzy vibrance to the place which contrasts fabulously with the moody low lit interior, dark wood furnishings and carvings. We saw relaxed diners enjoying drinks at the bar as they waited to be seated. Jojolapa has the ‘perfect night out’ atmosphere nailed. food Steamed momo chicken dumplings with mint and coriander sauce and Nepalese tomato sauce, chatamari (Nepalese pancake stuffed with vegetables and fried egg) and momo soup (chicken dimsum broth with noodles) were moreish starters. I was disappointed that the East Asian flavour to our meal pretty much ended there. There were very few main choices that I hadn’t eaten in an Indian restaurant. I opted for one of the noted Nepalese dishes special fish curry with nepalese spices. My guest plumped for the old faithful lamb rogan josh. Both were nice enough but I yearned for more of the starters. The kulfi ice cream was a delicious end to the meal. drinks There is a very respectable wine menu but Jojolapa is the natural home for cocktail lovers. The yummy jojolapa cocktail – black vodka, midori and cranberry juice marked the start of the evening in style and Jojolapa’s twist on the mango lassi served with vodka and orange liquer was gorgeous. overall There are plenty of Indian restaurants in Birmingham that boast similar dishes. But many of these restaurants can only dream of achieving Jojolapa’s cosmopolitan and sexy vibe seductively teamed with a friendly and super efficient service."

"We went to Pesto for a birthday dinner with a party of seven, and booked online. It had been a few years since our last visit, but it was better than ever. I had requested a table with good lighting due to one of our party being visually impaired, and we were seated at a round table by a window. The service was excellent - prompt but not intrusive, and our waitress was very patient as we perused the extensive menu. The food was delicious, catering to everyone from a nine-year-old to their grandfather. I highly recommend Pesto for good food, good service, and a pleasant atmosphere."

I felt as though generations of family recipes had been preserved and the results had been lovingly prepared for us in our own home. "I have eaten in the Verdo lounge for a few years and eating was always very good. this was the first time that I would have been here for dinner (I usually have brunch or tapas) although I had the same dish a few weeks back in the restaurant gloucester quays. I enjoyed the court so much I had it back in birmingham. I had the Katsu chicken burger with Slav and sweet potatoes, plus one side of the wobble rings. eating was hot, delicious and very pleasant. I ordered about the app that was nice and straight forward, although it took a while until my meal arrived after my friends came, which was a bit annoying, but I ate only the two rings during the waiting. the place was very clean and the staff was very friendly. Although you can't book, I never had to wait for a table for a long time. a great place to bring dogs, families and friends. I would recommend it."

"a few weeks ago with my partner visited to dinner and has a brilliant visit from beginning to end. service was fantastic that we sat immediately and our drinks within one minute or two and our eating about 10 minutes after. Once we finished a drink, the employees were ready to take over the next order. the selection of drinks was fantastic (we had a few of the handicraft lice each) and the selection of food was amazing. we had the garnels for the starter to share, and for the net I had the soya keema and my partner had the herbal curry, both with a side of chili cheese naan and bhaajis. the whole food was beautiful and tasted incredible. unbeatable prices all the above mentioned food and 4 pints of al for £ 50 is an absolute bargain. will come back 100%!"
