"Supplement to my review of 06.11.2014 General With a friend I was on the road with the motorcycle and the small tour led us to the Schaumbergalm at 11:30. Ideal for foot-sick two-wheelers, because while cars have to park below the foam plateau, bikers can drive the remaining 200m with their companion to the top of the plateau. Since my last visit, the beer garden has been completely finished, one has built a covered wooden galley, on which – as the host Danny told me – music bands from the region play up to the guests of the Schaumbergalm every Sunday from 4 p.m. in the summer. There, of course, only literally, burns the hut on the Schaumberg. The Schaumbergalm was as usual well visited. Since a larger group of pensioners were picked up from their bus, we got a nice place on the terrace right in front of the restaurant right on the railing to the slope with magnificent view over the northern Saarland. But surely everyone will find a seat on the Alm, because the beer garden takes up 300 guests, but here you have to use yourself. Eat Since we both had breakfast late, hunger was not so great. My companion chose a small “hearty ham bread” with raw ham from the enticing, good-bourgeois alpine pass, first-class in taste and how spicy rich and lovingly garnished with two slices of hard-cooked egg, cucumber, onions, paprika rings red and yellow, radishe slices and leek rings, cucumber and tomato; all at the price of 4,20€. At Danny's time in Freisen, I have repeatedly ordered a Schnitzelweck, so today my choice for the “small” hunger in between. A freshly baked baguette bread, painted with ketchup and Mayo, salad leaf as a bed for a neat carving, lean, buttery and juicy, with great spicy panade, green slices and onion rings on top. Costs 4,70€, tastes and you get rich. Conclusion: also for the small time of painting or on coffee and cakes it is worth the ride to the Schaumbergalm"

"Oh, my... We were just there because we used to live here very often there. Today is Saturday evening and from 6 pm to 7 pm: 25 pm we were the only guests. The bread was very old, the meat EXTREM dry, soup from the bag, Pommes Datschig, hair in food, rice portion a joke, even the cyclist tasted strangely, portions much smaller, sheep's cheese no longer dressed as before, ready sauce on salad etc.... We're just about an hour of danger for this. Really! I also learned that the owners are new. It's soooo shame, it used to be really good. I don't think this place will last for a long time. Unfortunately!!! You really have to try more, or set a real Greek cook.... and no Hilsfkoch from SriLanka. The mood was very comfortless, but well we were the only ones in the restaurant. I'm annoyed to have paid 75€ for this meal. But the operation was really very nice, at least something. Nevertheless, we hope that you will take these reviews to your heart and change something because otherwise the nix will be more. Because we are not the first ones that unfortunately have not been satisfied since the change, if you read them through the remaining comments."

"We were there for dinner today with six people. I have a few things to do. We waited for over 1 1/2 hours until we got our food. It was worth it. The food was very delicious, carving and sauce salad were very good. Rumsteak was good too. That. Service itself leaves little to wish. Long waiting times for you to drink a lot I feel. 3 times asked for menus and still no one. Only later when our drinks came. Desserts there are no Vanillaeis camps."

"Das Ambiente ist authentisch und schön dekoriert. Das Essen war bestenfalls mittelmäßig aber die Kellnerin ging gar nicht! Sie hatte keine Ahnung von den Gerichten, hat Fragen aber genau so selbstsicher wie falsch beantwortet. Ein dreckiges Glas würde eingedeckt kann passieren ich habe um ein neues gebeten, woraufhin mir die Dame erklären wollte, es sei nicht dreckig eine knappe Entschuldigung und ein neues Glas hätte doch vollkommen gereicht.. Und dann Erbsen aus der Dose zum Rumpsteak?! Leider eine volle Enttäuschung und nicht empfehlenswert!!"

"We visited as a group of slightly rebellious British males and they looked very around. This is not a tourist city so that the menus are not translated, but the waitress really helped us and treats us with good humor. The pizzas were absolutely beautiful and the price was great. 6,50 € for a large pizza was hard to believe compared to the prices at home. A nice meal and worth a visit."
