"My sister and my brother-in-law have long been swarming from the “Waldgasthaus Zum Wilden Schmied”. Located in the Wiehengebirge, between Bergkirchen and Porta Westfalica, this inn is well known for locals. As I live near Celle, the visit was premiere on Friday, because my brother-in-law had his birthday. The first nice surprise was, on the table stood a sign Kortes and Balou, you can see, sister heart, brother-in-law and her dog Balou are regular guests In addition to a standard ticket with German (Westphalia) dishes, there has been a weekend special “card with always different delicacies for some time to the weekend. And these dishes are quite surprising because they are exceptional, creative and very tasteful. I shouldn't have expected. I decided on Friday for a vegan dish: Strudel from green asparagus, apricot and Asian noodles with Cocos salsa and wild herbs salad for €12.90. It tasted as tasty as it was. Actually, I was well saturated, but the strawberry tiramisu with Amerettini and Minze was too tempting and my sister and I shared the portion. Also super delicious! Nils has served us attentively and friendly and also Balou has got his treat. A really dog-friendly place. The cook Mirko surprises with his creativity in the weekend special dishes and thus evaluates the map that is otherwise more to be called rustic. So I was pleasantly surprised how delicious you can eat in the wild forge and will definitely come back."

View breathtaking. When the beer garden is open we are happy to be guests there.

A beautiful hiking trail with magnificent views. In summer it's really great in the beer garden. The Wild Forging needs a new colour.

After walking through the autumn forest we reached the Wilder Schmied at noon. It wasn't the first time we were here and certainly not the last time.
