"three different vegetarian meals available - we tried the one that was vegan. starter was crispy tofu, pancake hoisin sauce. pretty tasty, but only 2 pancakes. then some deep fried mini-feders roll dinge, which were very fat and not much fill in. the mains option were a tofu dishes (suitable to be crispy, but it wasn't) some stir fry vegetables (painted taste) and sweet and acid mushrooms (really beautiful.) it is great that this place has veggie/vegans on the menu, but the food quality is only average. friendly staff and good view of the Chinese arch. I'm probably not going back."

Great food, not heavy food like other chinese restaurants. Warm and friendly. Real Chinese food as it should be.

We really enjoyed our visit to Yuet Ben having arrived just after opening we were treated to really attentive service! We told the manager we were vegan and he helped guide us through the menu. A feast of pickled vegetables, 'three precious jewels ', aubergine in black bean and kwo ta tofu meant we left very happy! It was lovely to eat in a restaurant overlooking Chinatown and hear some of the history of the area, I really look forward to visit again.

I visited her shortly after Christmas during the visit of the family in liverpool. I ordered from the vegan menu and reminded them that I didn't want any ice in my fried rice. they came back moments later and asked if I didn't want to get in my main dish (what on the vegan menu) as it was made in the rule with ei. it was a tofu and ingwer court, that was nice when it came, but I am glad that I didn't want to hurry, as there was obvious confusion about this being included in vegan dishes.

Eaten here twice this week (as was so keen to return after the first visit! and only have good things to say. Both times had the shredded tofu pancakes which are both delicious and super fun to eat (they come as separate ingredients pancakes, hoisin sauce, crispy tofu, cucumber, spring onion and you roll them yourself . Have tried two of the main tofu dishes and rice and it was all tasty, fresh and filling. Absolutely wonderful staff (the place is run by a couple and they are so friendly , great location. Will be back soon!

Someone is having a laugh submitting the Yuet Ben for happy cow? There is a bigger than average vego section on the menu compared to most other chinese restaurants in Liverpool but make no mistake, veg*nism is a sideline in here and eating dead animals is very much the number 1 in this establishment. There's also lamb on the menu which I was under the impression from what's listed elsewhere on this website was supposed to be a deal breaker against a listing on happycow. There's better veg*n options nearby. Portions are small. Updated from previous review on Saturday June 30, 2012
