"Awful, AWFUL experience. Quite frankly traumatising. No exaggeration, honestly. (Reposting my partners' review so that more people can be warned Do. Not. Go. To. This. Restaurant. My parents booked myself and my partner a meal here on groupon for my birthday and they honestly could...not be more hostile towards us. I went in smiling, we had trouble getting up the QR code but blatantly had the email confirmation booking and they just said “It’s not our problem. No QR code or get out our restaurant right now.” What is the point in advertising your restaurant on groupon if you’re going to treat the people who use it like dirt on the bottom on your shoe? I’m very capable of affording the dishes at full price but it was a present and therefore we were redeeming the voucher, and had called a few times in advance explaining that it was a birthday meal and so expect a certain level of human courtesy but wow…..they took every opportunity to be as rude and as horrible as possible every step of the way. In addition, when we called to ask if we could change our booking to 20 minutes later they said very rudely that they were fully booked, although when we arrived there was absolutely nobody in the restaurant eating. The place was completely empty… what is the need to lie like that? The disrespect is beyond belief. I’ve never felt so degraded in my life by people who are paid to offer ‘customer service’. I’m Japanese and can confirm that none of the staff are Japanese and the food looked basic at best. They treated us as if we were asking to eat for free….Ruined my 25th birthday. The worst vibe from a restaurant imaginable. I wouldn’t go near this place with a barge pole. Avoid it like the plague. £55 down the drain non-refundable for no food, awful service, and overall a completely unacceptable experience. DO NOT GO HERE."

Yazu sushi is definitely too expensive for what it is. Also I did not like owners attitude. Small place in a good location; Shepards Market in Mayfair, but....

We popped in for a quick plate or two of sushi. The conveyor has a reasonable variety but nothing too exciting. Sushi was tasty. Service average. Would I go there again? Maybe not but I don’t regret the meal I had.

We visited here after purchasing a groupon deal for 2 and was not disappointed. The sushi was fresh and the hand rolls we ordered tasted amazing. It’s a small place but found the staff to be very friendly and great service. The chef is making...the sushi in front of you. I think it would be expensive if not on the deal but we have purchased another so we can go back and highly recommend.

can not talk about the experience, actually eating here because on only try to book a table to use a gift voucher I was given for this restaurant, they were so rude for me on the phone and hang several times on me, out. no reason. I told them I had been the credit as a gift, and it had run out in the march and his answer was "not my problem is it" so I would never go here now and have asked for a refund on my credit Voir le carte

This family-run place is tucked in a small alleyway in Mayfair and is cosy yet bright and inviting. The sushi chef makes the sushi right in front of you and as others have noted, we didn't see any of the cheaper dishes on the conveyor...belt meaning you're mostlky looking at £4 and £6 for 2 pieces of sushi. Delicious but mostly on the classic side of sushi creations. It's all about the sushi so do your research if you plan to hop on to someplace afterwards for dessert. It's not quite the place to go if you're hungry or are more than 2 people. The seating around the conveyor belt doesn't allow for an inclusive group conversation in my opinion. also, All in all, would be happy to go again for...

WATCH OUT FOR THEIR GROUPON SCAM!!! My friend booked and made it clear on the booking that we had a Groupon voucher. When we arrived, the chef asked if we had anything special with the booking we thought he meant a birthday or something...so said no. The sushi was ok, though the selection was very limited and none of the cheaper dishes were available it was expensive for what it was. There were maybe 6-7 of the same dishes going around the conveyor belt. Come time to pay and we brought out the Groupon QR code. The chef threw an absolute hissy fit and told us we were not nice and that we HAD to show the Groupon at the start or we could not use it. He said that it was an old till and that they...

"The decor of the restaurant is really lovely. We were greeted as soon as we arrived. We placed our orders quite briskly. We received complimentary bread and olives, which was a nice touch. Our Bruchetta starter arrived a whole hour after we arrived, which was disappointing and far too long to wait for a cold and easy starter. The menu did not specify that the prawns on one of the bruschettas were raw! The waiter said service was slow because they were busy with Uber Eats and Deliveroo. Clearly not prioritising paying customers, who pay a 12.5% service charge, unlike online customers. Eventually, our main courses arrived. My pasta was only just cooked, so close to being undercooked and hard. They ran out of ricotta and replaced it with the tiniest amount of cheese so I asked for some more. Since ricotta was supposed to be the main ingredient of the dish. The tuna steak was lovely, and the veal could have done with a thinner breadcrumb batter. The sides, chips and zucchini, were £4.50 and very small portions for such a cheap side. So that was slightly disappointing. Overall, the pinot grigio white wine was very drinkable, and they brought tap water when we asked for it. And the whole staff were very polite. It was a shame the service was so slow, and the food could have been better for the price that it was. We also felt it was overpriced for the location it was, zone 2 London and not in the West End."
