"I don't have much to say about this restaurant compared to my other reviews. Overall, it was a pleasant experience with very welcoming staff and a quiet cafe. The layout provided enough space between tables so you didn't feel cramped, but not so much for full privacy which isn't necessary in a cafe. The play area for kids outside looked spacious and could accommodate many children. The shop you walk through to get to the cafe had a nice, simple layout and a good selection of products. The food was simple but well-cooked and flavorful. The burger and BLT were tasty, and the drinks were good. We also enjoyed a slice of delicious Victoria sponge. Overall, the cafe is average but stands out for its kid-friendly play area. It could improve by utilizing the farm surroundings better, like the Allarburn farm shop in Elgin, by making the animals a highlight of the experience and encouraging visitors to explore the area."

The kids love the play area, the food is freshly prepared, great value and the staff are friendly and helpful. The farm shop is also lovely and there is a great selection of quality toys to purchase.

During the weekends, this restaurant gets very crowded and there may be a longer wait for your food. Despite the small portions, the quality of the dishes is exceptional as everything is prepared to order. The atmosphere is fantastic and kid-friendly, but be cautious in the café area as there are often loose children running around. Voir le carte

First visit here. Farm produce is lovely so we'll certainly be back to buy both meats and veg. Coffee shop had a great aray of home bakes, prices were good and service staff were pleasant. Certainly the indoor play area is perfect for very young children, though it is not designed for the older more boisterous kids. I'd certainly go back.

Visited as a group of 7 and sat in play area. Kids had a great time (as always) with variety of equipment swings, slide, frame, trampoline, pirate ship, toddler ride ones and plenty Wow toys vehicles, dress up and playhouse. Food and drinka lovely sandwiches, kids platters, baked pots and soup. Cannot fault anything great, friendly service. Best part is the home baking....yum yum yum.

Called in with friends and received a warm welcome. Newly baked scones with our coffee/tea were wonderful. Nice quiet area to chat most people there with young children in the play barn have their refreshments at the tables at the end of the play barn and any noise is minimal. Farm shop sells lovely fresh veg, good selection of meat, eggs, etc. Nice for children to get a close up of some of the farm animals too. Well worth a visit. Voir le carte

For those that haven't been before, the place is a functioning farm with a small farm shop, tea room and indoor children's play area. The staff seem friendly enough, the play area for the children is brilliant and you can eat your food/drink whilst watching the children play. The food is tasty but basic in my opinion. The farm shop is also quite basic. You can wander the yard and see the cows and chickens. Nice way to spend a couple of hours but be warned; it can get very busy around lunch time! My 15mnth old loves it!

I would have given this place a better review if there had been more seating around the play area. Every time we come here, there are no seats available, despite there being plenty of space to add 3 or 4 picnic benches, similar to the ones they already have. I can't understand why they haven't added more seating. The cost would surely be minimal, especially considering the additional revenue that could be made by having them. As a result, there is nowhere to sit while your child plays, and nowhere to enjoy a cup of tea or cake. This lack of seating has really deterred me from returning. The food is quite good, but it's not much use if you don't have a seat to enjoy it on!

"Genuinely couldn't fault the experience. When I heard that the Drouthy had a new menu focusing more on a veggie and vegan base, I knew I had to give it a whirl. The starter of hot Smoked salmon with lemon creme fraiche and oatcakes was simple yet packed full of flavour. I could have easily have had 10 plates of that and been happy to give it 5 stars. My partner had the smoked duck and even though I have given up meat, I was salivating at the look of their dish. They assure me that it was as delicious as it looked. Served with lavender roasted potatoes (which I'm told were amazing and charred salsify. The mains were more than a match for the brilliant starters. If I could give one piece of advice, it would be get the beetroot risotto. Not being a massive fan of beetroot, I wasn't too sure about it. But the incredibly warm waiter (for my son's, I never got his name. I only hope he can forgive me if he reads this! assured me it was tasty. He was not wrong. Beautifully cooked vegan risotto with balsamic beetroot chunks, shiitake mushrooms and rocket, it was simply divine. WHEN I go back, I'll be hard pressed to go for anything else because it was so delicious. It was creamy, packed full of flavour and cooked absolutely perfectly. Just the right amount of bite, nowhere near being mush like you get in a lot of other places (who charge a lot more, by the way . Superb. The highest of compliments to the chef. I was so taken by my dish I forgot to ask how my partner's was until I had eaten all of mine. But their home made vegan tagliatelle had disappeared from the plate so it must have been amazing. I couldn't handle dessert so had a delicious ruby port (delaforce I think it was called , and I would also like to give credit to whoever came up with their wine list. It covered every single base and no-one could ever be disappointed. Finally, if you're ever in Elgin, please make sure this is one of your destinations. You will leave extremely happy."
